A student died on Monday (February 2, 2026) after being run over by a truck on the Trans-Sumatra Highway (Jalinsum) in the Lubuk Pakam area.
The victim, a resident of Pasar Melintang village in Lubuk Pakam district, was reportedly on his way home from class.
The fatal accident occurred right in front of the Sultan Thaf Sinar Basarsyah Mosque, not far from the office of the Deli Serdang Regional Assembly (DPRD).
The accident occurred when the victim tried to avoid a pothole.
After the incident, the victim’s body was immediately transported by officers to Amri Tambunan Regional Hospital for further treatment.
According to eyewitnesses at the scene, this tragic incident began when the victim’s CB motorcycle hit a pothole.
The impact caused the victim’s vehicle to become unstable, causing the victim to fall and be run over by a Fuso truck.
The accident resulted in the victim’s death.
