The Public Prosecution Service of West Java appoints nine prosecutors for the Taufik Hidayat case

The Public Prosecution Service of West Java has appointed nine prosecutors to lead the investigation into the mistreatment and detention of a woman named YTR (29) by suspect Taufik Hidayat in the Bandung district.

This was communicated to reporters on Saturday, June 27, 2026, by Nur Sricahyawijaya, head of the Legal Information Department of the Public Prosecution Service of West Java.

He explained that his office had received a Notice of Commencement of Investigation (SPDP) on June 15, 2026, in the name of suspect Taufik Hidayat.

“Based on the sent SPDP, the Public Prosecution Service of West Java has appointed nine prosecutors to handle the investigation against suspect TH and monitor its progress,” said Sricahyawijaya.

The appointment of this team of public prosecutors is part of the procedure for handling criminal cases. The team will monitor the progress of the investigation, verify the completeness of the files submitted by the detectives, and provide advice if there are any incompleteness in the files.

“The nine appointed public prosecutors will continue coordinating with the detectives in the case against suspect TH,” he added.

Coordination between investigators and public prosecutors will continue until the file is declared complete, or P-21. Subsequently, the public prosecutor will present the case to the court for the trial phase.

The Public Prosecution Service of West Java emphasized that it will continue to monitor the progress of the investigation until the file is declared complete and is ready to be presented to the court. In this case, Taufik Hidayat is suspected of violating Section 466 (2) and/or Section 451 of Penal Code Act No. 1 of 2023 (KUHP).
