Deli Serdang police narcotics unit arrests two couriers with 21,142 grams of drugs
The Deli Serdang police narcotics unit made a significant arrest on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at approximately 9:00 a.m. West Indonesia Time. The team successfully solved a drug case involving 21,142 grams of methamphetamine and two couriers.
Regarding this arrest, Deli Serdang police chief, Chief Commissioner Hendria Lesmana, S.I.K., M.Si., explained through the head of the Narcotics Squad, Commissioner Dr. Fery Kusnadi, SH, MH, that the revelation was the result of an intensive investigation by intelligence agencies and informants. They reported that a methamphetamine shipment from Aceh was being transported to Jakarta via Belawan.
Under the direction of the Narcotics Squad head, two suspects were being monitored in the new tax area of Belawan.
Suspects arrested on SM Raja Street en route to Belawan
On Monday evening (February 9, 2026), one of the suspects was seen walking towards SM Raja Street before returning to Belawan.
The following day, the team monitored the movements of the two suspects again. They took a taxi to the Medan-Lubuk Pakam route. Both suspects were carrying a backpack and a suitcase containing clothing.
Around 9:00 a.m. (Western Indonesian Time), officers carried out an ambush on the Medan-Lubuk Pakam highway in Lubuk Pakam district, Deli Serdang Regency, and arrested two men, identified as R (29), a resident of Bireuen Regency, and Z (34), a resident of Medan-Belawan.

During the search, officers found 20 green plastic bags containing Chinese tea, suspected of containing methamphetamine.
Ten bags were found in a blue backpack and another ten in a pink suitcase. The total weight of the drugs was approximately 21.142 grams.
Two Android phones, suspected of being used for communication during the transaction, were also seized.
Suspects Confess: Drugs Destined for Jakarta
Based on the initial interrogation, it emerged that the methamphetamine was intended for shipment to Jakarta. The two suspects and the evidence are currently being held at the Deli Serdang police narcotics department for further investigation.
“This revelation demonstrates the determination of the Deli Serdang police to disrupt the drug trafficking chain, particularly across provincial borders.
Drug traffickers have no place within the jurisdiction of the Deli Serdang police,” concluded the police chief.***
