Bobby Nasution urges integrity within the government apparatus
The Provincial Government of North Sumatra (Pemprov) has once again received an unqualified audit opinion (WTP) from the Supreme Audit Office (BPK) of the Republic of Indonesia for its Regional Financial Report (LKPD) for fiscal year 2025.
This twelfth consecutive unqualified opinion is expected to encourage all officials to continuously improve their performance and maintain integrity in regional financial management.

This was announced by the Governor of North Sumatra, Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution, during the plenary session for the submission of the BPK audit report (LHP) on the North Sumatra Regional Financial Report for fiscal year 2025 at the building of the Regional People’s Representative Office of North Sumatra (DPRD) on Jalan Imam Bonjol in Medan.
Also present were, among others, Vice Governor Surya, Director General of the State Financial Audit II of the BPK, Nelson Ambarita, Acting Regional Secretary of the Province of North Sumatra, Sulaiman Harahap, Chairman of the Regional People’s Council of North Sumatra (DPRD), Erni Ariyanti, and other leaders and members of the DPRD.
Bobby Nasution expressed his appreciation to the Indonesian Audit Office (BPK RI) for successfully completing the audit of the North Sumatra Regional Financial Report 2025 (LKPD), in which integrity, independence, and professionalism were central.
He stated that achieving the twelfth consecutive WTP recommendation was the result of the joint efforts of all parties involved for effective and responsible regional financial management.

“This highest rating should encourage us to continue striving to improve the quality of our financial management and to achieve the best results for the people and the provincial government of North Sumatra,” said Bobby.
However, Bobby acknowledged that there are still various areas requiring improvement and refinement in regional financial management. Therefore, in addition to internal improvements, the Provincial Government of North Sumatra expects guidance and direction from the BPK RI, as well as effective, objective, and constructive oversight from the Regional People’s Council of North Sumatra (DPRD).
“We hope that all officials remain committed to improving their performance, accountability, and integrity in the execution of regional financial management in accordance with the principles and regulations, so that the financial reports continue to receive a positive assessment in the coming years, which has become the ‘culture’ of the Provincial Government of North Sumatra,” he said.

Bobby also emphasized his pursuit of clean government and good governance in regional administration and financial management. This pursuit is carried out based on the principles of transparency, participation, and accountability, in collaboration with Sumut Berkah, to realize a superior, advanced, and sustainable North Sumatra.
Meanwhile, Nelson Ambarita, Director-General of the State Financial Audit II at the Supreme Court of Audit (BPK RI), expressed his appreciation for North Sumatra’s success in retaining the WTP advice.
He stated that the synergy between the Provincial Government of North Sumatra, the Regional Representative Body (DPRD), and the BPK RI is a crucial factor for transparent and responsible financial management of the state.
Nelson also made a number of recommendations that the Provincial Government of North Sumatra must follow, including the evaluation of regional expenditures, budget management, the settlement of overpayments, and various other points.

“However, these issues have no material impact on the reliability of the 2025 financial report of the Provincial Government of North Sumatra. We appreciate the results of the follow-up audit, which met the recommendations (of the Supreme Court) in 78.9%. Therefore, a joint effort and performance are needed to achieve the national target (80%). We congratulate you on your twelfth WTP advice,” he concluded. ***REL
