“We highly appreciate the presentation by the Mayor of Tanjungbalai, and I think this is one of the best concepts among all the presentations by the regional administrators. As we know, this city has great potential in the field of fisheries and maritime affairs, and moreover, it has become an icon,” said Bobby Nasution.

According to Bobby, this significant potential must be continuously strengthened to improve the image of Tanjungbalai and create a broader economic impact for the community. He is also convinced that concrete steps are needed to create more jobs through the development of key sectors in the region.

“How can we create better or more profitable jobs for the community? If there are options, people will look for good jobs and be able to support their families. Therefore, a clear development concept is needed, taking into account the superior potential of each region,” explained Bobby Nasution.

Therefore, Bobby welcomed the Tanjungbalai municipality’s plan to develop new areas, implement urban planning, and improve the quality of public services.

According to him, this step will not only beautify the city but also serve as an engine for economic growth in the region. “There is much potential in the region that we can rely on. And we certainly support the development of new areas. We can cooperate where necessary. Also regarding the construction (repair) of the provincial road there, we request that a tender be issued as soon as possible so that the work can be carried out as quickly as possible,” said the governor.

Furthermore, Bobby Nasution also encouraged improvements in the quality of healthcare, particularly at the Tanjungbalai Regional Hospital. He stated that the management of the regional hospital must first improve the quality of service and management before physical construction work is carried out, so that it can yield optimal results and contribute to regional revenue.

Meanwhile, Mahyaruddin Salim, Mayor of Tanjungbalai, expressed his appreciation for the governor’s attention and swift response to the various development needs in his region.

He outlined various proposals, ranging from road repairs and the construction of a terminal to infrastructure support for Buaya Island in the Teluknibung district, which is to become a fisheries center.

“We hope that the governor will express his support for the improvement of Tanjungbalai. One of our plans is the development of a fisheries center, for which a bridge is needed to the area, at a distance of approximately 100-150 meters,” said Mahyaruddin.

He also stated that the municipality of Tanjungbalai has implemented the Universal Health Care (UHC) program, as initiated by the provincial government of North Sumatra.

Currently, BPJS Kesehatan (the social security agency) has coverage of 99.4 percent of the population, so the next priority is improving the quality of healthcare, particularly at the Tanjungbalai Regional Hospital. ***REL
