Ministry of Manpower and National Agency for the Assessment of Solar Power Plant (PLTS) Personnel Strengthen Energy Transition Ecosystem
The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) has facilitated the technical competency certification of 60 prospective assessors from 18 educational and training institutions specializing in solar power plants (PLTS).
The certification process took place from October 29 to October 31, 2026, in support of the development of a solar power plant (PLTS) infrastructure with a peak capacity of 100 gigawatts (GWp), as planned by President Prabowo Subianto.

Darmawansyah, Director General of Vocational Training and Productivity Development (Binalavotas) at the Ministry of Manpower, stated that the development of large-scale solar power plants requires skilled workers across various fields, including planning, installation, construction, inspection, testing, operation, and maintenance.
“The development of renewable energy must be accompanied by the development of competent human resources. We must ensure that the workforce possesses skills that align with industry needs, enabling them to contribute to the construction and development of national solar power plants,” said Darmawansyah in a press release issued by the Ministry of Manpower’s Public Relations Bureau on Saturday, October 31, 2026.
The certification activities were held at SMKN 1 Garut, the Indonesia University of Education (UPI) in Bandung, and the Vocational and Productivity Training Center (BBPVP) in Serang, Banten. Each location hosted 20 participants across various training programs: Installation and Construction Personnel for Rooftop Solar Power Plants in Garut; Junior Inspectors and Testing Personnel for Solar Power Plants at UPI Bandung; and Senior Maintenance Personnel for Solar Power Plants at BBPVP Serang.

The certification was conducted by the Professional Certification Institute (LSP) for Renewable Energy, under the Work Competency Certification Program (PSKK) managed by the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP).
The Head of the BNSP Secretariat, Moh. Amir Syarifuddin, stated that this initiative is part of an effort to strengthen the certification system for personnel in the solar energy sector.
He noted that reinforcing this system requires synergy among the government, regulatory bodies, the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP), professional certification institutes (LSP), universities, vocational training centers, vocational schools, research institutions, professional associations, and the industry.
“The involvement of various stakeholders is essential to ensure that competency development and certification are integrated and aligned with the needs of the renewable energy sector,” said Amir.
The 18 participating institutions included vocational training centers, universities, and secondary schools. These institutions comprise BBPVP Serang, the Bandung Institute of Technology, the Indonesian Education University, the Bandung State Polytechnic, Telkom University Bandung, the Sumatra Institute of Technology, the National University of the Republic of Indonesia, Dian Nusantara University, and several vocational and secondary schools in West Java.
The participants included lecturers, instructors, and teachers. Once their technical competence has been verified, they may meet the requirements to become competency assessors in accordance with prevailing regulations, and potentially support certification services at their respective institutions.
The Ministry of Manpower hopes that increasing the availability of qualified professionals and competency assessors will improve access to the PLTS (Solar Power Plant) competency assessment for workers and the general public, enabling them to gain recognition for their skills. ***rel

Kemnaker & BNSP Perkuat Ekosistem Sertifikasi SDM PLTS Menuju Transisi Energi
Sertifikasi dilaksanakan oleh Lembaga Sertifikasi Profesi (LSP) Energi Terbarukan melalui program Pelaksanaan Sertifikasi Kompetensi Kerja (PSKK) Badan Nasional Sertifikasi Profesi (BNSP).
Kepala Sekretariat BNSP, Moh.
***rel
