The Dekranasda of North Sumatra strengthens SMEs based on local knowledge
The Chairman of the Provincial Dekranasda of North Sumatra (Sumut), Kahiyang Ayu Bobby Nasution, visited the Gunungsitoli City Dekranasda Gallery at the Gomo Market in Gunungsitoli District.
The visit was part of an initiative to strengthen the development of SMEs and the creative economy based on local knowledge, increase their competitiveness, and improve community well-being.

During the visit, Kahiyang Ayu was accompanied by the Vice Chairman of the Dekranasda of North Sumatra, Titiek Sugiharti Surya. Their presence also demonstrated their support for the development of local craft and SME sectors, which have significant growth potential at the regional and national levels.
Kahiyang Ayu emphasized the importance of strengthening the creative economy, rooted in regional cultural heritage, as one of the pillars driving the community’s economy.
“We want local artisanal products and products from small and medium-sized enterprises to continue to grow, gain more recognition, and yield tangible benefits for the well-being of the artisans. This gallery is an important place where work, culture, and business opportunities come together,” stated Kahiyang.
During this occasion, the group viewed various high-quality products from local artisans displayed in the gallery. The exhibited products included handicrafts, woven fabrics, regional processed products, and various creative works that reflect the rich culture and local wisdom of Nias.

The Chairman of the Dekranasda of Gunungsitoli City, Veny Sowa’a Laoli, expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the attention and support provided by the Dekranasda of North Sumatra regarding the development of regional crafts.
He stated that the visit motivated SMEs and artisans to continue innovating, improving product quality, and increasing market access, enabling them to compete at regional and national levels.
