Telkomsel Introduces the GASING Method: Learning Math the Fun Way
Telkomsel demonstrates its commitment to sincere service through tangible contributions to education.
In collaboration with the Humbang Hasundutan Regency government, Telkomsel presents the “Pandai Berhitung” (Smart Counting) program, utilizing the GASING method (Easy, Fun, and Enjoyable).

Agung E. Setyobudi, General Manager of Telkomsel’s Mobile Consumer Business Region for North Sumatra, stated that the “Pandai Berhitung” program reflects the company’s commitment to making a genuine contribution to education, starting in the Humbang Hasundutan Regency. The program will subsequently be rolled out gradually and measurably to various regions across North Sumatra.
Meanwhile, the Regent of Humbang Hasundutan, Dr. Oloan P. Nababan, S.H., M.H., expressed his hope that the GASING training—organized in partnership with Telkomsel—would contribute to improving education within the Humbang Hasundutan Regency.
He noted that Humbang Hasundutan was one of the pioneers of the GASING training program and that it is a source of pride for the region to once again participate in this ongoing initiative.

He expressed his hope that both participants and trainers would give their best during the training. The “Smart Counting” program, utilizing the GASING method, supports the implementation of the President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia’s Asta Cita program, specifically by driving educational transformation through the development of high-quality, productive, and competitive human resources.
Furthermore, this program contributes to improving digital literacy, serving as a foundation for strengthening the national digital economy.
Telkomsel acts as the network provider supporting the digital learning process. The program also involves the Gasing Academy as the provider of methods, materials, and mathematics instruction; Sacred Octagon (by INA AI) as the game-based learning platform; and Kuncie (via SkulPintar) as the training and assessment platform.
The “Smart Counting” program, based on the GASING method, began with a 45-day mathematics training course for 2,832 teachers in the Humbang Hasundutan district. Following the training, these teachers will instruct 44,592 primary and secondary school students in mathematics using the GASING method. Students will undergo a pre-test to assess their initial proficiency in mathematics.

The duration and subsequent instructional materials will be adjusted based on the pre-test results. The program aims to train students in mathematics with a target score of at least 90.
This score is measured against PISA standards (Mathematics, Science, Reading) as well as additional components—Language and General Knowledge—tracked on the National Dashboard.
Dr. Yohanes Surya, founder of the GASING method, added: “We hope that children in Humbang Hasundutan will develop skills that surpass the national average, aiming for a score of 90. This will significantly improve the quality of education for both students and teachers.
Telkomsel’s support through interactive learning tools and games contributes greatly to a fun learning experience while also enabling measurable tracking of student and teacher progress,” he said.

Telkomsel Kenalkan Metode GASING : Belajar Matematika Jadi Menyenangkan

Kali ini, Telkomsel bersama Pemerintah Kabupaten Humbang Hasundutan menghadirkan Program Pandai Berhitung dengan Metode GASING (Gampang, Asyik, Menyenangkan) yang memberikan kesempatan kepada setiap anak untuk belajar matematika secara mudah dan percaya diri.
General Manager Mobile Consumer Business Region Sumbagut Telkomsel, Agung E. Setyobudi mengatakan, kehadiran Program Pandai Berhitung dengan Metode GASING menjadi bentuk semangat kami untuk sepenuh hati berkontribusi bagi pendidikan yang saat ini dimulai dari Kabupaten Humbang Hasundutan. Nantinya secara bertahap dan terukur akan dilakukan di berbagai wilayah Sumatera Bagian Utara.
Sementara itu, Bupati Kabupaten Humbang Hasundutan Bapak Dr. Oloan P. Nababan, S.H., M.H., menyampaikan harapannya agar pelatihan GASING yang dilaksanakan bersama Telkomsel dapat turut mendorong kemajuan pendidikan di Kabupaten Humbang Hasundutan.
Beliau menyampaikan, Humbang Hasundutan merupakan salah satu cikal bakal pelaksanaan pelatihan GASING, sehingga menjadi kebanggaan tersendiri bagi daerah untuk kembali menjadi bagian dari keberlanjutan pelatihan ini. Kiranya peserta dan para pelatih bisa memberikan yang terbaik dalam pelatihan ini.
Program Pandai Berhitung dengan Metode GASING turut mendukung implementasi Asta Cita Presiden dan Wakil Presiden Republik Indonesia, khususnya dalam mendorong transformasi pendidikan melalui SDM unggul, produktif, dan berdaya saing.
Selain itu, program ini juga berkontribusi terhadap peningkatkan literasi digital sebagai fondasi penguatan ekonomi digital nasional.
Dalam pelaksanaannya, Telkomsel berperan sebagai penyedia jaringan yang mendukung proses pembelajaran digital. Program ini juga melibatkan Gasing Academy sebagai penyedia metode, materi, dan numerasi, Sacred Octagon dari INA AI sebagai platform belajar berbasis game, serta Kuncie melalui SkulPintar sebagai platform latihan dan pengukuran.
Program Pandai Berhitung dengan Metode GASING diawali dengan pelatihan numerasi bagi 2.832 guru di Kabupaten Humbang Hasundutan selama 45 hari. Setelah mengikuti pelatihan, para guru akan mengajarkan berhitung dengan Metode GASING kepada 44.592 siswa SD/SMP, di mana para siswa akan diberikan pre-test untuk mengukur kemampuan numerasi awal mereka.
Durasi dan materi pembelajaran selanjutnya akan disesuaikan dengan hasil pre-test tersebut. Program ini akan melatih siswa berhitung dengan target nilai numerasi minimal 90.
Pencapaian tersebut diukur berdasarkan standar PISA (Matematika, Sains, Membaca) serta tambahan Bahasa dan Pengetahuan Umum pada Dashboard Nasional.
Pencetus Metode GASING, Prof. Yohanes Surya Ph.D, menambahkan, “Kami berharap anak-anak di Humbang Hasundutan memiliki kemampuan yang melampaui rata-rata nasional dengan target mencapai nilai 90 yang akan meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan secara pesat, baik dari sisi siswa maupun guru.
“Dukungan Telkomsel melalui perangkat dan games pembelajaran interaktif sangat mendukung pengalaman belajar yang menyenangkan sekaligus memungkinkan perkembangan siswa dan guru dipantau secara terukur,” katanya.
Program Pandai Berhitung dengan Metode GASING diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan numerasi siswa, memperkuat kapasitas guru dalam mengajarkan matematika secara efektif, serta menciptakan ekosistem pembelajaran yang inklusif dan menyenangkan.
Melalui kolaborasi ini, Telkomsel bersama Pemerintah Kabupaten Humbang Hasundutan optimistis dapat menghadirkan dampak berkelanjutan dalam mempersiapkan generasi muda yang lebih unggul, adaptif, dan siap menghadapi tantangan masa depan. ***rel
