Green jobs are expected to create up to 9 million new jobs in the next 10 years
The Ministry of Labour (Kemnaker) is preparing the workforce for the expected growth of green jobs, which is expected to generate between 5.3 and 9 million new jobs in the next 5 to 10 years.
This preparation involves developing the necessary skills, training programs, teachers, facilities, certification, and recognition.

Minister of Labour (Menaker) Yassierli stated that green jobs represent an important opportunity for the future. According to him, the next challenge is to translate the green jobs roadmap into concrete action.
“Viewed from a global perspective, green jobs are not only a concern for Indonesia, but for all countries and the entire world. We have consulted extensively on a specific roadmap for green jobs,” said Yassierli during the Indonesian Green Jobs Conference 2026, organized by the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas in Jakarta on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.
He explained that the Ministry of Labor is working on methods to support the skills of workers required for green jobs, ranging from training facilities to recognition.
“Our role at the Ministry of Labor is to develop methods, starting with training facilities—in that context—up to the skills required for green jobs. Next, we develop the curriculum, the instructors, the facilities, the certification, and the recognition,” he said.

Yassierli said that these efforts require extraordinary cooperation. According to him, this opportunity must be prepared from the outset, in line with the spirit of an inclusive energy transition.
“And this must be an opportunity we seize; we must prepare ourselves from the start. For the spirit of the energy transition is also leaving no one’s spirit behind,” he concluded. ***rel
Peluang Green Jobs Diproyeksikan hingga 9 Juta Lapangan Kerja Baru Dalam 10 Tahun ke Depan
Kementerian Ketenagakerjaan (Kemnaker) menyiapkan kompetensi tenaga kerja untuk menghadapi peluang penciptaan lapangan kerja hijau (green jobs ) yang diproyeksikan mencapai 5,3 juta hingga 9 juta lapangan kerja baru dalam 5-10 tahun ke depan.
Penyiapan tersebut mencakup keterampilan siap kerja, kurikulum, instruktur, fasilitas, sertifikasi, hingga rekognisi.
Menteri Ketenagakerjaan (Menaker) Yassierli mengatakan green jobs menjadi peluang besar ke depan. Menurutnya, tantangan selanjutnya adalah menerjemahkan peta jalan green jobs menjadi aksi nyata.
“Kalau kita lihat dalam kacamata global, green jobs ini tidak hanya menjadi concern Indonesia tapi semua negara dan semua di dunia. Kita sudah berdiskusi cukup panjang terkait dengan roadmap khusus terkait dengan green jobs ini,” ujar Yassierli saat menghadiri Indonesia’s Green Jobs Conference 2026 yang diselenggarakan Kementerian PPN/Bappenas di Jakarta, Rabu, 2 September 2026.
Ia menjelaskan, Kemnaker menyiapkan modalitas untuk mendukung keterampilan tenaga kerja terkait green jobs, mulai dari tempat pelatihan hingga rekognisi.
“Dan peran kami di Keme nterian Ketenagakerjaan adalah menyiapkan modalitas mulai dari tempat pelatihan dalam konteks itu adalah skill siap kerja terkait dengan green jobs ini sendiri. Kemudian penyiapan kurikulum, instruktur, fasilitas, sertifikasi sampai kepada rekognisi,” katanya.
Yassierli mengatakan upaya tersebut membutuhkan kerja sama yang luar biasa. Menurutnya, peluang tersebut harus dipersiapkan sejak awal sejalan dengan semangat transisi energi yang inklusif.
“Dan ini harus menjadi kesempatan yang kita ambil, kita siapkan dari awal. Karena semangatnya transisi energi pun semangatnya adalah no one left behind,” pungkasnya. ***rel
