Spreading Kindness on the Blessed Friday of Ramadan: Pegadaian Medan Distributes Food Packages to Mamiyai Orphanage
PT Pegadaian Regional Office 1 Medan spread kindness on the Blessed Friday of Ramadan by distributing hundreds of food packages to Mamiyai Orphanage on Jalan Bromo in Medan on Friday, February 27, 2026.
Through its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program, PT Pegadaian Regional Office 1 Medan supports the government in its efforts to promote education while simultaneously improving the well-being of the community, especially that of the orphanage residents.
The basic food aid was handed over by Yohanis Wulang, Head of PT Pegadaian Medan’s Regional Office 1, via Shastry, Head of ESG. The aid was received directly by Ms. Mery Nina Harahap, Chair of the Mamiyai Orphanage Foundation, accompanied by Khairunna M.Pd., Chair of the orphanage.
Pegadaian Medan’s Commitment through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program
Yohanis Wulang, Head of ESG, Shastry, explained that the basic food aid is part of the company’s commitment to the community through Pegadaian Medan’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program.
Pegadaian’s CSR program covers various sectors, including education, social services, economic empowerment, and environmental awareness.
“And coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan, on Good Friday, we (Pegadaian) distributed basic food aid to the Mamiyai Orphanage to ease the burden on the orphanage’s administrators,” he explained.
On that occasion, the orphans were encouraged to continue their enthusiastic learning, even during the fast. “Continue to learn enthusiastically, even during the fast. Make the holy month of Ramadan an opportunity to improve yourself and increase your good deeds,” he said.
Ramadan with Pegadaian
The head of PT Pegadaian’s Regional Office 1 in Medan, Yohanis Wulang, invites residents of Medan and the surrounding area to the “Ramadan with Pegadaian” event, which will take place simultaneously in the atrium of SUN Plaza in Medan from February 28 to March 1, 2026.
