Yassierli made this appeal during his address at the 7th National Conference (Munas) of the Federation of Chemical, Energy, Mining, Oil, Gas, and General Workers’ Unions—part of the Confederation of Indonesian Trade Unions (FSP KEP KSPI)—held in Jakarta on Sunday, October 25, 2026.
On that occasion, Yassierli commended the active role played by labor unions in monitoring the development of the labor protection law. He expressed his hope that this spirit of cooperation would continue, enabling the government and the unions to jointly oversee the implementation of labor policies.
“The government appreciates the active contribution of our partners in the labor unions toward the development of this new law. For the next phase, I invite all labor unions to join in overseeing the practical implementation and enforcement of this new labor law,” stated Yassierli.
The Labor Protection Law was passed on October 6, 2026, during a plenary session of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI). The enactment of this law follows the Constitutional Court (MK) ruling No. 168/PUU-XXI/2023 regarding the judicial review of the labor sector and originated from an initiative by the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI).
Yassierli stated that developing a fair, inclusive, productive, and sustainable labor ecosystem remains a vital task that requires the collaboration of various stakeholders.
According to him, synergy between the government, employees, and employers is essential to address labor market challenges and strengthen Indonesia’s competitive position.
“We have an important task to build an inclusive, productive, and sustainable employment ecosystem. I am confident that, with a spirit of cooperation and the spirit of the ‘Red and White’ [national identity], we can achieve this together,” he added.
