Ministry of Manpower: Competency certification strengthens the competitiveness of graduates undergoing internships

Towards the end of the Batch 2 National Internship Program on May 23, 2026, the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) emphasized the importance of competency certification for graduates as a step to strengthen competitiveness and increase employment in the industrial world.

The Director General of Vocational Training and Productivity Development (Binalavotas) of the Ministry of Labour, Darmawansyah, said competency certification is an important component after participants complete the internship program as it provides official recognition for the skills acquired during work practice.

“The internship program not only provides practical experience in the working world, but should also provide recognition of competencies that can equip participants when entering the labor market,” Darmawansyah said in a press release from the Public Relations Bureau of the Ministry of Manpower.

The Ministry of Manpower also encourages graduates of the Batch 2 Internship Program to continue improving their competency through the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP) certification, which is offered free of charge. Registration for certification is open from June 8 to 19, 2026 via the MagangHub platform.

In addition, the Ministry of Manpower ensures that all final phases of the Batch 2 National Internship Program run optimally before the closure of the program, including the completion of participant administration, program evaluation and reporting of implementation results by the organizers.
