During Bobby’s term as Governor of North Sumatra: 44.95 kilometers of road improvements
Throughout 2025, Governor Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution of North Sumatra will have improved the provincial road infrastructure by modernizing 44.95 kilometers of roads in various regions of North Sumatra.
This effort is part of Governor Bobby Nasution’s Fastest Best Results Program (PHTC), which is implemented through the Integrated Infrastructure Development (INSTANSI) program.
Various road sections that have been repaired include Hilimbuasi-Mandrehe, Gunungsitoli-Afia, Lolowua-Dola, Dola-Duria, Afia-Tuhemberua, Miga-Lolowua, Silimbat-Parsoburan, Onan Ganjang-Pakkat, Perbaungan-Pantai Cermin, Simpang Belidahan-Dolok Masihul, Tanjung Beringin-Bandar Khalifah and Simpang Beringin-Tandem Hilir.
“A total of 44.9 km of provincial roads, including the Idano Noyo Bridge (West Nias), are being repaired. The opening is scheduled for this month or next, after which the bridge will be open to the public again,” said Dikky Anugrah, head of the North Sumatra Development Planning, Research and Development Agency (Bappelitbang), during a press conference of the North Sumatra Communications and Information Agency in the lobby of the North Sumatra Dekranasda Building, Governor’s Office, Jalan Diponegoro, Medan, on Thursday, January 22, 2026.
Duct Repair in Gunungsitoli
In addition to road repairs, culvert repairs are also being carried out on the Nias Islands in Gunungsitoli to improve water drainage and prevent flooding. Meanwhile, the Aek Batang Angkola Bridge in the South Tapanuli District and the Aek Pardomuan Bridge in the North Tapanuli District are also being renovated to strengthen interregional connections, improve public transportation, and promote more efficient logistics distribution.
In addition to road and bridge infrastructure, Governor Bobby Nasution is also renovating irrigation canals.
Repairs were carried out on a 420-meter-long irrigation canal in the Pekan Kamis irrigation area, Dolokmasihul District, Serdangbedagai District, and on the irrigation network in the Bah Kora II/Negeri Bosar irrigation area, Panei District, Simalungun District.
These works included canal repairs and the construction of irrigation canal cascades up to 100 meters long.
Collaboration with REI and Bank Sumut increases access to decent and affordable housing
The North Sumatra provincial government’s commitment to increasing access to affordable housing is also evident in the issuance of Government Decree No. 33 of 2025.
This decree emphasizes the strategic collaboration with housing developers (REI) and Bank Sumut to increase access to decent and affordable housing for the community.
The housing program has reached various districts and cities, including Central Tapanuli, Asahan, Langkat, Karo, Deliserdang, Simalungun, Labuhanbatu, Dairi, Pakpak Bharat, Serdangbedagai, Batubara, South Labuhanbatu, as well as the cities of Medan, Pematangsiantar, Tanjungbalai, Binjai, Tebingtinggi, and Padangsidimpuan.
A total of 10,039 housing units were created through the provision of affordable housing to low-income residents and civil servants through the FLPP-subsidized mortgage program.
This program also renovated 400 uninhabitable houses (RTLH) in slums ranging in size from 10 to less than 15 hectares in the regencies of Batubara, Humbang Hasundutan, North Labuhanbatu, Mandailing Natal, North Nias, Samosir, Simalungun, South Tapanuli, Central Tapanuli, North Tapanuli, and the cities of Padangsidimpuan and Pematangsiantar. ***obs
