The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) emphasized the importance of competency certification to ensure that professionals in the permanent make-up industry possess measurable and recognized competencies in accordance with established standards.
Deputy Minister of Manpower Afriansyah Noor stated that competency development must go hand in hand with the implementation of work standards, service quality, professional ethics, and occupational health and safety (K3).

“As a profession evolves, so do the demands regarding competence, work standards, service quality, professional ethics, and occupational health and safety,” said Afriansyah in his speech during the inauguration of the Indonesian Permanent Make-up Association and the Indonesian Permanent Make-up Certification Institute (LSP) in Jakarta on Sunday, August 23, 2026.
According to Afriansyah, the establishment of the Indonesian Permanent Make-up LSP is a significant step toward ensuring that professionals in the industry possess measurable and recognized competencies that meet established standards.
Afriansyah also expressed his appreciation for the founding of the Indonesian Permanent Make-up Association.
He noted that professional organizations play a vital role in building networks, enhancing member capabilities, strengthening professional development, and serving as a forum for the exchange of knowledge and experience.

“I hope that in the future, this association will serve not only as a meeting place for professionals but also as a shared hub for improving the quality of the workforce within the Indonesian permanent make-up industry,” he said.

Afriansyah added that the beauty industry is not just about appearance, but also about employment, entrepreneurship, and the economic empowerment of the community.
