The Ministry of Labour is transforming the BPVP to ensure that vocational training graduates are immediately employable in the job market, aiming for a 70% employment rate within the business sector

The Ministry of Labour (Kemnaker) is driving the transformation of the Vocational and Productivity Training Centre (BPVP) to ensure that training programs better align with the needs of business and industry.

This initiative aims to boost graduates’ chances of entering the workforce, targeting a 70% employment rate for graduates of national vocational training programs.

Minister of Labour Yassierli stated that the BPVP should be managed as a high-quality training centre featuring a strong learning culture and an integrated alumni network.

In this way, vocational training is intended to deliver tangible benefits to the community and better meet labour market demands.

“We need to explore how these training centres can serve the community as broadly as possible. Through the transformation of national vocational training, we are increasing access and improving quality to address current labour market challenges,” said Yassierli during a working visit to the BPVP in West Bandung, West Java, on Friday, October 9, 2026.

To monitor training outcomes, the Ministry of Labour will conduct a follow-up survey no later than two months after the completion of the training. This mechanism is used to track the career paths of alumni as part of the evaluation of training results.

The Ministry of Labour is also promoting a training model that involves the business community, local authorities, industrial estates, and state-owned enterprises.

Through a demand-driven approach, participants receive training at centers aligned with the needs of the business sector, thereby increasing their post-training employment prospects.

In addition to training a workforce that meets business needs, the BPVP has been tasked with expanding its services to include training for people with disabilities, labor productivity clinics for medium-sized enterprises, and a Talent & Innovation Hub serving as an innovation center.

“It is not just about vocational training; each center will feature a Talent & Innovation Hub, complete with job placement services for people with disabilities and a productivity clinic,” said Yassierli. ***rel

Kemnaker Transformasi BPVP demi Lulusan Vokasi Siap Kerja, Target 70 Persen Terserap Industri

***rel
