Telkomsel Digiland Run 2026: action to protect the earth with runners planting 26,325 trees
Telkomsel, as part of the TelkomGroup, has started the first planting of 1,000 mangrove trees in the Angke Nature Tourism Park, North Jakarta, as a concrete follow-up to the Telkomsel Digiland Run 2026 “The RACEvolution”.
This initiative comes from the participation of 12,500 runners who completed a total of 131,625 kilometers, resulting in a commitment to plant a total of 26,325 trees, with every 5 kilometer run converting into 1 tree.

The first start of planting trees with the theme ‘The RACEVolution continues: from every step to every root’ is a real link between a healthy lifestyle and a tangible impact on the environment.
After the Telkomsel Digiland Run 2026 successfully presented a sports experience that combined sports, technology, entertainment and MSME empowerment, Telkomsel continued this as a coastal restoration effort, in response to the challenges of attrition and decreasing green cover of mangroves on the north coast of Jakarta. This first planting is part of the momentum of World Environment Day and close to the anniversary celebrations of Telkom Indonesia, Telkomsel and DKI Jakarta.
For Telkomsel, this initiative is part of the Telkomsel Take Care of the Earth movement since 2022, which focuses on energy management, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and waste management.

Previously, Telkomsel had also highlighted its commitment to sustainable business practices on the momentum of World Environment Day, and through various initiatives that opened up space for public participation, ranging from the redemption of Telkomsel points for tree planting to environmental education movements.
Until 2025, Telkomsel’s partnership with Jejak.in and customers has helped plant more than 39,000 trees in different parts of Indonesia.
VP Corporate Communications & Social Responsibility Telkomsel, Abdullah Fahmi, said that for Telkomsel, “Serving with all your heart” means creating an impact that is tangible, and not just connectivity.
“Through Telkomsel Jaga Bumi, we want to make it easier for more people to do good for the environment in a way that is close to their daily lives. From every step of the runners in Digiland Run 2026, new roots are growing today that we hope can protect the coast, nurture hope and provide long-term benefits for future generations,” he said.

In its implementation, this activity involved more than 100 participants, consisting of elements from TelkomGroup, Telkomsel, the DKI Jakarta provincial government, the media and internal volunteers.
The series of events includes collaborative tree planting in mangrove areas, environmentally friendly support activities and educational sessions to strengthen understanding of the importance of coastal ecosystems.
The Angke Nature Tourism Park area was chosen because it plays an important role in restoring Jakarta’s natural green belt and supports the goals of SDG 13 (climate action), SDG 14 (marine ecosystems) and SDG 15 (land ecosystems).
In line with TelkomGroup’s sustainability strategy, GoZero%, which focuses on Save Our Planet, Empower Our People and Elevate Our Business, this step of planting trees with the Telkomsel Protect the Earth movement also reflects the effective implementation of sustainability principles at the operating company level, while encouraging emissions reduction towards the Net Zero 2060 target launched by TelkomGroup.
