Street lighting on the main road to Kualanamu Airport still undergoing maintenance
The street lighting (PJU) on Jalan Sultan Serdang, specifically the access road from Simpang Kayu Besar to Kualanamu Airport, is currently still undergoing maintenance.
This maintenance is being carried out to ensure optimal street lighting and to improve the safety of road users in the area. “The street lighting on Jalan Sultan Serdang has been maintained by the Deliserdang Transport Agency since January 2026. The maintenance of the street lighting falls under the responsibility of the Deliserdang Transport Agency,” stated Yuda Pratiwi Setiawan, Head of the North Sumatra Transport Agency, on Monday, March 16, 2026.
Complaints regarding street lighting at Kualanamu Airport
The Deliserdang Transport Agency has received various complaints from the public regarding the condition of the street lighting at this location. To date, various repair and maintenance works have been carried out, but not all lighting needs have been met yet.
“The Deliserdang Transport Agency is working to provide for the material needs for street lighting in the area. We continue to cooperate with them to accelerate the repairs to the street lighting and thus ensure traffic safety,” stated Yuda.
He added that the Deliserdang Transport Agency remains committed to addressing the lack of street lighting in the area as soon as possible. On that occasion, Yuda also asked for the public’s understanding during the street lighting maintenance. He urged motorists to be careful when passing through the area and to respect the posted signs.
“We recognize the importance of street lighting, particularly on the busy route to the airport. Therefore, we thank the public for their understanding and cooperation in ensuring traffic safety in this area,” said Yuda. ***rel
