SMPN 4 Sitolu Ori’s dream of a permanent building is finally coming true
The long-awaited permanent school buildings for the students and teachers of State Junior High School (SMPN) 4 Sitolu Ori in the North Nias district are finally becoming a reality.
The construction grant from the Governor of North Sumatra (Sumut), Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution, fulfills a wish held since the school’s establishment in 2024.

Since opening, classes and learning activities at SMPN 4 Sitolu Ori have taken place in a simple structure with wooden walls and a zinc roof. These conditions often disrupted the learning process, especially during the rainy season.
Electra Stefani Harefa, a ninth-grade student, admitted that she had never attended classes in a permanent school building since first arriving at the school in 2024.
According to her, the current school environment is unpleasant; it becomes muddy when it rains, and swarms of mosquitoes disrupt the learning process.
“For instance, we don’t feel comfortable during the rainy season. We feel uneasy because the surroundings get quite muddy, and naturally, there are mosquitoes bothering us during lessons,” said Electra from SMPN 4 Sitolu Ori in North Nias.

Electra expressed her delight at hearing that her school would soon have a permanent building. She also conveyed her gratitude to Governor Bobby Nasution for the attention he has shown to her school.
“Governor, thank you for your attention to our school. I hope that in the future, the Governor will be blessed and wise in leading North Sumatra,” she said. SMPN 4 Sitolu Ori currently has 45 students: 16 in the seventh grade, 11 in the eighth grade, and 18 in the ninth grade.
The principal of SMPN 4 Sitolu Ori, Teti Gea, also expressed her appreciation for the construction grant.
According to her, the support provided is clear evidence of Governor Bobby Nasution’s commitment to improving the quality of education in North Sumatra.

“We express our gratitude and hope that we can also contribute to other facilities in the future,” said Teti.
In addition to school buildings, Teti hopes the government will also assist with the construction of laboratories, libraries, and access roads to schools. She believes that good roads are crucial, as some students have to walk significant distances every day.
“That is why we also want access roads to be built quickly. Some children here walk 2 to 5 kilometers. Some leave at 6:00 a.m. and walk,” she said.
The construction project includes three fully equipped classrooms, an administration building housing the principal’s office, a staff room, an administrative area, and a guest room, as well as sanitary facilities such as men’s and women’s restrooms and a restroom for people with disabilities.
