Padangsidimpuan Public School to Open in July 2026
Governor Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution of North Sumatra aims to complete the public school in Padangsidimpuan in 2026.
“I hope that the school will be able to welcome new students at the start of the new school year, in July 2026,” said Governor Bobby Nasution during an inspection of the public school construction in Padangsidimpuan on Monday, March 2, 2026.
Construction of the school began at the end of 2025. “The school is expected to be completed at the start of the new school year and welcome new students in July,” said Bobby.
Community Schools for Underprivileged Families
Community Schools is a government program that has been running since 2025. This program aims to provide underprivileged families with access to free, high-quality education.
Several community schools have been established in North Sumatra. The community school in Padangsidimpuan offers education to students in primary school (SD), junior secondary school (SMP), and senior secondary school (SMA).
In addition to classrooms, this school also has various supporting facilities, including sports fields, dormitories, prayer houses, and other amenities.
Development of Community Schools in North Sumatra
Governor Bobby Nasution expressed his appreciation for the development of community schools in North Sumatra, particularly in Padangsidimpuan.
“Thank you very much for the community school in North Sumatra, in Padangsidimpuan,” said Bobby.
The governor was accompanied by Lieutenant Dalimunthe, mayor of Padangsidimpuan, and Alexander Sinulingga, head of the North Sumatra Department of Education. ***rel
