National Internship Program Facilitates Industry Access to Immediately Employable Talent
Minister of Labor (Menaker) Yassierli emphasized that the National Internship Program (MagangHub) is a more effective recruitment mechanism for companies to attract talent that aligns with the needs of the industry.
The Minister made this statement during an evaluation of the implementation of MagangHub at PT Adyawinsa Electrical and Power (AEP), a manufacturing company and supplier of energy solutions in Bekasi, West Java, on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.

During the visit, the Minister assessed the workplace learning process and spoke with eight alumni of the National Internship Program who were offered permanent employment following an assessment of their competence, work ethic, and the company’s needs.
Yassierli stated that the evaluation and the conversation with the management of PT AEP demonstrated that MagangHub offers added value in meeting the company’s staffing needs. “Based on input from company management, the National Internship Program offers concrete benefits. Companies get the chance to directly guide and coach potential employees and assess their competencies before deciding to hire them,” said Yassierli.
He explained that the workplace learning process gives companies a more complete picture of participants’ competencies and suitability prior to recruitment.
“The National Internship Program offers companies more certainty in attracting talent that aligns with industry needs. This is a more effective form of talent acquisition because the learning and assessment process takes place simultaneously,” said Yassierli.

Furthermore, MagangHub also benefits from recent graduates, particularly higher professional education students without work experience. Through internships, participants gain practical experience in the business world, improve their competencies, build their work ethic, and increase their chances of getting a job.
Yassierli added that the successful influx of interns into permanent employment demonstrates the importance of strengthening synergy between the government, the business community, and educational institutions in building a labor market that aligns with industry needs.
“We want the National Internship Program to bridge the gap between the business community’s need for competent employees and young Indonesian talent ready to develop. In this way, company productivity will increase, while graduates will have a greater chance of securing a decent job,” he said.
The Minister of Labor also expressed his appreciation to the President of the Republic of Indonesia for making the National Internship Program one of the national priority programs. According to him, this policy is a strategic step to accelerate the connection between education and the labor market, improve the quality of human capital, and increase employment opportunities for recent graduates.
