Illegal C-Gunning in Galang District to be halted
The Governor of North Sumatra, Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution, personally inspected the condition of Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan in Galang District, in the Deliserdang region. During his visit, Bobby assured that roadworks would begin immediately to improve public comfort and safety.
The roadworks are expected to have a positive impact on the local economy. Improved transport options will promote mobility, the distribution of agricultural products, and trade activities in the area.

Bobby explained that the Provincial Government of North Sumatra has allocated more than 17 billion Indonesian Rupiah from the North Sumatra regional budget for the 2026 fiscal year for structural improvements to the provincial road on the 3-kilometer stretch between Lubuk Pakam and Tanah Abang in the Deliserdang region.
The project will be carried out by PT Rapi Arjasa. In addition, improvements will be made to the 2.05-kilometer-long provincial road along the border between Tanah Abang, Galang, and Serdang Bedagai.
A budget of more than 14 billion Indonesian rupiah is available for this, sourced from the North Sumatra regional budget for the 2026 fiscal year. The work will be carried out by CV Cipta Karya Nusantara.
Amidst the enthusiastic welcome from the residents, Bobby also confirmed that he would put an end to the illegal Type C mining activities, about which residents have long complained as one of the causes of road damage caused by overweight trucks.

“I have previously heard directly from residents that many heavy trucks pass through here. We will ensure that they are stopped. We will require them to apply for a permit,” he said.
According to Bobby, if the entrepreneurs obtain an official permit, the government will construct a separate access road to avoid burdening the public roads. “Currently, the roads in the Galang district have a load capacity of 8 tons. So, if illegal miners are granted permits, we will build a separate access road,” he explained.
Bobby also asked Regent Asri Ludin Tambunan of Deliserdang to repair the road, which falls under the district administration. The provincial government of North Sumatra is willing to provide financial support, he said.
“Mr. Regent, please carry out the repairs; we are willing to offer financial support,” he said.

Furthermore, Bobby invited the public and content creators to follow the roadworks to ensure that everything proceeds according to plan.

Meanwhile, Juli, a resident of Galang, said that the community is struggling not only with damaged roads but also with dust and flooding, which disrupt daily life.
“Mr. Bobby, we breathe in dust every day because trucks pass by from early morning until midnight. When it rains, this area often floods. Many local businesses are also suffering from the swirling dust,” he said.

Juli also asked the government to monitor the tonnage of vehicles driving through the area more strictly. According to him, road repairs will not last long if the number of passing vehicles exceeds the established load capacity.
“So we hope that not only are the roads and ditches repaired, but that the tonnage of the vehicles is also monitored. There is no point in repairing roads if the trucks exceed the tonnage limit, because the roads will quickly deteriorate again,” he said. ***REL
