Honda CRF collides with Satria FU, causes fire
Two motorcycles were involved in an accident on Jalan Sutrisno in Medan on Thursday, March 26, 2026, around 10:45 PM.
The incident caused a loud explosion and flames that reduced both vehicles to ashes, injuring the drivers.
Fire caused by leaking fuel tank
The head of the Medan traffic police, Tabes AKBP I Made Parwiita, explained that the accident involved an unregistered CRF 150 motorcycle and a Suzuki Satria FU BK 5954 HG, which collided with great force.
The collision reportedly caused a leak in the fuel tank, resulting in a fire that spread rapidly. Honda CRF rider Rasya (17) sustained severe burns all over his body. The driver of the Suzuki Satria FU, M. Ervin, suffered abrasions to both legs and his right hand. His passenger on the Honda CRF, Revan (17), was also injured.
Victims injured and taken to hospital
All three were taken to Methodist Hospital for medical treatment.
“Based on preliminary investigation at the scene, it is suspected that the driver of the Suzuki Satria FU was driving against the direction of traffic and wanted to cross Jalan Samudera. At the same time, a Honda CRF was approaching from Jalan Sutrisno towards Jalan Thamrin, which caused the collision,” reported I Made Parwita, Friday (March 27, 2026).***
