Audi’s new supercar, the Nuvolari, hits 350 km/h
From sketch to road-ready in 405 days: the Audi Nuvolari is one of the most tangible examples of the changes Audi is undergoing in terms of technology, design, performance, and vehicle development processes.
Audi’s latest supercar delivers 1,001 hp, can reach speeds exceeding 350 km/h, and utilizes a powerful hybrid powertrain.

With these specifications, the Nuvolari is the fastest and most powerful production vehicle Audi has ever developed. Production is limited to 499 units worldwide.
However, the significance of the Nuvolari for Audi extends beyond mere performance figures. Developed as a technology and design flagship, this model also serves as what Audi calls its “technological North Star,” providing direction and inspiration for future technological developments within the company.
“The Nuvolari project demonstrates how quickly we at Audi can bring an idea to life. This is ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’,” says Gernot Döllner, CEO of Audi AG. 405 days from sketch to reality
The Nuvolari’s speed is not only evident when driving; a similar pace characterizes the development process itself. Audi took the Nuvolari from initial sketch to running prototype in just 405 days. To achieve this, Audi assembled a focused, interdisciplinary project team.
Designers, vehicle engineers, aerodynamics specialists, and the powertrain team were involved from the outset, ensuring shorter lines of communication and faster decision-making.
The Nuvolari’s journey took it to various Audi development facilities across Europe. The initial concept was developed in Ingolstadt, followed by cold-weather testing in Lapland, the development of a lightweight structure in Neckarsulm, and aerodynamic testing in the Ingolstadt wind tunnel.
Driving characteristics were then refined through suspension tuning in southern Spain, after which the car underwent high-speed testing at the Nardò Technical Center in Italy.

Each location played a role in transforming an idea on paper into a vehicle that could actually be tested on the road and the track.
Formula 1 influences in the Nuvolari’s development
The Nuvolari’s ties to motorsport were further strengthened when two drivers from the Audi Revolut F1 Team—Gabriel Bortoleto and Nico Hülkenberg—became involved in the testing phase.
Bortoleto tested the Nuvolari on the high-speed Nardò circuit, while Hülkenberg explored its capabilities on the test track at Neustadt an der Donau.
For Audi, their involvement provided an additional perspective from the world of motorsport during the car’s final development stage. Hülkenberg described the Nuvolari’s acceleration and system output of over 1,000 hp as “a real statement.”
The Nuvolari subsequently made its world premiere in Antibes, France, on June 4, 2026, before making its public road debut during the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix. This venue proved to be a significant stage for the Nuvolari’s character, where Audi’s road-going technology merged with the most competitive environment in motorsport.

1,001 hp and over 350 km/h
Beyond its performance capabilities, the Nuvolari also served as a platform for Audi’s technological experiments.
Its powerful hybrid powertrain delivered 1,001 hp, while its top speed exceeded 350 km/h. Its development combined Audi’s motorsport experience with advanced aerodynamics and the new Audi Space Frame, paired with a carbon-fiber body.
The Nuvolari is also the first production model to adopt Audi’s new design language. This approach places clarity of form and proportion at the heart of the car’s identity, without losing the character that makes it instantly recognizable as an Audi.
This design approach has received international recognition with the “Design of the Year” award from the CAR Genius Awards in the United Kingdom. The jury judged that Nuvolari has succeeded in bringing a sense of restraint and clarity to the supercar segment, with a look that feels fresh yet reflects Audi’s signature style.
From Monaco to Monterey: Audi’s new course onto the global stage
Following its European debut, Audi chose Monterey Car Week 2026 as the location for the North American debut of the Audi Nuvolari. This event is known as one of the most prestigious automotive events in the world, particularly for collectors and luxury car enthusiasts – with guests, collectors, and automotive industry professionals from around the globe attending every year.
Vito Paladino, President of Audi of America, said: “Monterey Car Week is one of the most prestigious events for Audi to unveil our first top-class supercar.
With the Audi Nuvolari, we want to show what Audi stands for: progress built on a solid foundation.” The Nuvolari was featured on various main stages at Monterey, including “The Quail” and “Concept Lawn” at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
Following its debut on public roads in Monaco, the Nuvolari also made its first appearance on American roads, with a route around Carmel-by-the-Sea, near the Monterey Peninsula.
Interest in this model is growing in the run-up to the start of pre-sales in Europe in the fourth quarter of 2026. Audi plans to deliver the first units in the first quarter of 2027.

Dari sebuah sketsa hingga melaju di jalan raya dalam waktu 405 hari. Audi Nuvolari menjadi salah satu gambaran paling nyata tentang perubahan yang tengah berlangsung di Audi, baik dari sisi teknologi, desain, performa, maupun cara sebuah kendaraan dikembangkan.
Supercar terbaru Audi ini menghasilkan tenaga sistem 1.001 PS, mampu mencapai kecepatan lebih dari 350 km/jam, dan mengandalkan high-performance hybrid powertrain.
Dengan spesifikasi tersebut, Nuvolari menjadi kendaraan produksi tercepat sekaligus paling bertenaga yang pernah dikembangkan oleh Audi. Produksinya dibatasi hanya 499 unit di seluruh dunia.
Namun, arti penting Nuvolari bagi Audi tidak berhenti pada angka performa. Model ini dikembangkan sebagai technology and design flagship, sekaligus menjadi apa yang disebut Audi sebagai technological North Star untuk memberikan arah dan inspirasi bagi pengembangan teknologi Audi selanjutnya.

405 Hari dari Sketsa hingga Menjadi Nyata
Kecepatan Nuvolari tidak hanya terlihat saat mobil dikendarai. Ritme serupa sudah dimulai sejak proses pengembangannya.
Dalam kurun waktu 405 hari, Audi membawa Nuvolari dari sketsa pertama hingga menjadi prototipe yang dapat dikendarai. Untuk mencapainya, Audi membentuk tim proyek yang bekerja secara fokus dan lintas disiplin.
Desainer, engineer kendaraan, spesialis aerodinamika, hingga tim powertrain terlibat sejak awal dengan jalur komunikasi yang lebih pendek dan proses pengambilan keputusan yang cepat.
Perjalanan tersebut membawa Nuvolari melintasi berbagai fasilitas pengembangan Audi di Eropa. Konsep awal dikembangkan di Ingolstadt, dilanjutkan dengan pengujian cuaca dingin di Lapland, pengembangan konstruksi ringan di Neckarsulm, serta pengujian aerodinamika di wind tunnel Ingolstadt.
Karakter berkendaranya kemudian diasah melalui suspension tuning di selatan Spanyol sebelum menjalani pengujian kecepatan tinggi di Nardò Technical Center, Italia.

Hubungan Nuvolari dengan motorsport kemudian semakin kuat ketika dua pembalap Audi Revolut F1 Team, Gabriel Bortoleto dan Nico Hülkenberg, ikut terlibat pada tahap pengujian.
Bortoleto menguji Nuvolari di lintasan berkecepatan tinggi Nardò, sementara Hülkenberg mengeksplorasi kemampuannya di test track Neustadt an der Donau.

Ajang ini dikenal sebagai salah satu perhelatan otomotif paling prestisius di dunia, khususnya bagi kolektor kendaraan dan pecinta mobil mewah – dengan kehadiran tamu, kolektor, serta pelaku industri otomotif dari berbagai negara setiap tahunnya.
