The transformation of higher education in the digital age is unfolding rapidly. To address this challenge, several leading universities in Asia have established the Asia Alliance University (AAU)—a cross-border academic alliance rooted in a spirit of cooperation rather than competition.

By leveraging technology and transnational networks, the AAU aims to create a sustainable and inclusive educational framework that extends learning opportunities beyond institutional walls and national borders.

In preparation for the official opening ceremony of the AAU in Busan, South Korea, on November 9, 2026, Dongseo University (DSU)—serving as the chair of the Alliance—will host the inauguration and launch of the AAU platform on October 19, 2026, in a hybrid (in-person and online) format.

This launch marks a significant milestone in strengthening cooperation among Asian universities, particularly in the areas of digital learning, student mobility, knowledge exchange, and the cross-border recognition of academic credits.

A golden opportunity for Indonesian private universities

Through the ABPPTSI (Association of Indonesian Private Universities Organizing Bodies), affiliated universities are encouraged to participate directly in and utilize the AAU platform.

A broad network of partners—spanning Japan, China, Malaysia, Thailand, and Hong Kong—offers opportunities for collaboration in online education, student and faculty exchanges, credit recognition, and the joint development of academic programs. A manual has also been provided to ensure that each university can readily follow the established procedures.

Enam Tujuan Utama AAU

Universitas Murni Teguh Ambil Langkah Nyata

Kelima perwakilan Universitas Murni Teguh, yakni: Jeanne Epifania Br Tampubolon – Program Studi Hukum; Elisabeth Aprillia Purba – Program Studi Keperawatan; Cindy Tria Ananta – Program Studi Manajemen; Igvar Cheneldy – Program Studi Fisioterapi; dan Edgard – Program Studi Sistem Informasi.

Prof. Dr. Agus Susanto Tan, Jumat, 30 Oktober 2026.

Menurut Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agus Susanto Tan, partisipasi UMT ini sekaligus memperkuat implementasi kerja sama internasional Universitas Murni Teguh dan mendukung upaya ABPPTSI mendorong perguruan tinggi swasta Indonesia semakin aktif di jejaring pendidikan tinggi global.

“Pendidikan tinggi masa depan bukan lagi soal siapa yang terbaik, tetapi siapa yang paling siap berkolaborasi. Dan Asia, melalui AAU telah memulainya,” sebut Wakil Rektor Universitas Murni Teguh. ***obs
