Cooperation Agreement for Electronic Court Hearings Signed
The Public Prosecution Service of South Sumatra, the Palembang Supreme Court, and the Regional Office of the Directorate-General of Justice in South Sumatra have officially signed a cooperation agreement regarding the implementation of electronic criminal court hearings.
The strategic agreement was signed by the Head of the Public Prosecution Service of South Sumatra, Ketut Sumedana, the Chief Justice of the Palembang Supreme Court, Herdi Agusten, and the Head of the Regional Office of the Directorate-General of Justice in South Sumatra, Yulius Sahruzah, in the hall on the 9th floor of the Public Prosecution Service of South Sumatra building in Palembang on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.

The ceremony was also attended and signed by all heads of district courts, heads of public prosecutors, and heads of detention centers and penitentiary institutions throughout South Sumatra.
“This collaboration is aimed at optimizing the implementation of electronic criminal proceedings, in line with developments in information technology and the need for a modern, transparent, and efficient legal system,” said Ketut Sumedana, Head of the Public Prosecution Service of South Sumatra.
Through this agreement, the three agencies have committed to strengthening the integration of a digital criminal justice system. This encompasses the technical aspects of the electronic questioning of suspects, witnesses, and experts, as well as the management of case files via a secure and transparent digital system.
This signing is considered crucial for fostering synergy between law enforcement agencies, particularly in support of the digital transformation in the national justice sector.

Through this agreement, the three institutions have agreed to optimize the implementation of electronic criminal proceedings as part of an effort to improve the quality of legal services to the public.

The introduction of electronic court hearings is expected to proceed more efficiently, reduce cumbersome litigation, and make a real contribution to improving the quality of public services and legal certainty in Indonesia.
