Worker protection is crucial for the creation of healthy labor relations
The Ministry of Labor (Kemnaker) continues to strengthen worker competencies and protection in response to changes in the labor market, influenced by technological developments, artificial intelligence, changes in the industrial structure, and labor mobility.
The Deputy Minister of Labor (Wamenaker), Afriansyah Noor, stated that these steps are aimed at ensuring that workers possess competencies that align with the needs of the labor market, while simultaneously enjoying fair protection.

“Employment development must provide three things: decent work, competent workers, and fair protection,” said Afriansyah during the National Dialogue and the presentation of the Swarna Dwipa Institute Prize in Jakarta.
Afriansyah believes that changes in the labor market require human capital that can adapt. Therefore, improving competencies is one of the Ministry of Labor’s key priorities to prepare the workforce for the changing needs of the labor market.
To support this, the Ministry of Labor continues to strengthen the role of vocational training centers in training personnel with skills relevant to the needs of the labor market.
Vocational training not only provides participants with skills but also prepares them for better entry into and adaptation to the labor market.

“Vocational training centers play a crucial role in training competent personnel that meets the needs of the labor market,” stated Afriansyah.
In addition to competence, the Ministry of Labor continues to strengthen worker protection as part of workforce development. This protection includes, among other things, compliance with the right to wages, social security, occupational safety and health, and the resolution of labor disputes.
Afriansyah stated that worker protection is also a determining factor in the development of healthy labor relations.
According to him, certainty regarding workers’ rights and protection goes hand in hand with creating conditions that support business continuity and economic growth. “Competent personnel must be supported by good protection. Perlindungan Pekerja Menentukan Terciptanya Hubungan Industrial yang Sehat
Kementerian Ketenagakerjaan (Kemnaker) terus memperkuat kompetensi dan pelindungan pekerja sebagai respons terhadap perubahan dunia kerja yang dipengaruhi perkembangan teknologi, kecerdasan buatan, perubahan struk tur industri, hingga mobilitas tenaga kerja.
Wakil Menteri Ketenagakerjaan (Wamenaker) Afriansyah Noor mengatakan, langkah tersebut diarahkan untuk memastikan tenaga kerja memiliki kompetensi yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan dunia kerja sekaligus memperoleh pelindungan yang berkeadilan.
“Pembangunan ketenagakerjaan harus menghadirkan tiga hal, yakni pekerjaan yang layak, pekerja yang kompeten, dan pelindungan yang berkeadilan,” kata Afriansyah saat menghadiri Dialog Kebangsaan dan Swarna Dwipa Institute Award yang diselenggarakan di Jakarta.
Afriansyah menilai perubahan dunia kerja membutuhkan sumber daya manusia yang mampu beradaptasi. Karena itu, peningkatan kompetensi menjadi salah satu fokus Kemnaker dalam menyiapkan tenaga kerja agar mampu mengikuti perkembangan kebutuhan dunia kerja.
Untuk mendukung hal tersebut, Kemnaker terus memperkuat peran balai pelatihan vokasi dalam menyiapkan sumber daya manusia dengan keterampilan yang releva n dengan kebutuhan dunia kerja.
Pelatihan vokasi tidak hanya membekali peserta dengan keterampilan, tetapi juga mempersiapkan mereka agar lebih siap memasuki dan beradaptasi di dunia kerja.
“Balai pelatihan vokasi memiliki peran penting dalam menyiapkan sumber daya manusia yang kompeten dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan dunia kerja,” ujarnya.
Selain kompetensi, Kemnaker terus memperkuat pelindungan pekerja sebagai bagian dari pembangunan ketenagakerjaan. Pelindungan tersebut antara lain mencakup pemenuhan hak atas upah, jaminan sosial, keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja, serta penyelesaian perselisihan hubungan industrial.
Afriansyah menyatakan, pelindungan pekerja turut menentukan terciptanya hubungan industrial yang sehat.
Menurutnya, kepastian atas hak dan pelindungan pekerja berjalan beriringan dengan terciptanya kondisi yang mendukung keberlangsungan usaha dan pertumbuhan ekonomi.
“Pekerja yang kompeten harus didukung dengan pelindungan yang baik. Keduanya menjadi bagian penting dalam membangun ketenagakerjaan yang kuat,” katanya. ***rel
