Bobby made these remarks during a meeting with the “Gelegar Vespa” organizing committee and the management of Binjai Italian Scooter North Sumatra at the Tengku Rizal Nurdin Hall, Jalan Sudirman No. 41, Medan, on Friday, September 18, 2026.

Bobby believes that the uniqueness of the Vespa lies not only in its historical value or price but also in the strong solidarity among riders within the community.

“Vespa is a community activity that revolves primarily around family. Whether you are a club member or an independent rider, the solidarity is extraordinary. This sense of family certainly goes beyond monetary value,” said Bobby Nasution.

He emphasized that the spirit of brotherhood and cooperation within the Vespa community is vital to share with the broader public when addressing the various societal challenges of today.

Bobby expressed his support in response to an invitation to attend and officiate the opening of the Gelegar Kontes Vespa Mania 5 event—marking the 30th anniversary of the Italian scooter community in Binjai—which is scheduled to take place on October 17 and 18, 2026, at Merdeka Square in Binjai.

Committee Chairman Dwi Rendra Perkasa explained that the large-scale, quinquennial event bears the theme “Three Decades of Tracks: From an Old Machine to a Whole Family.”

“This event is part of the celebration of our community’s 30th anniversary. We have prepared various activities, including a ceremonial rice-cone cutting, competitions for classic and modern Vespas, a ride (Sunday Morning Ride/Sanmori), live music, the distribution of basic food supplies to the community, and the participation of local SMEs. We expect around 3,000 visitors and participants from North Sumatra, Aceh, Riau, and West Sumatra,” said Dwi Rendra.

He added that the event is being organized entirely by the community members themselves—through self-reliance and mutual cooperation—without relying on the regional budget (APBD). Also present at the meeting was the Deputy Mayor of Binjai, Hasanul Jihadi—who serves as an advisor—alongside advisors and administrators from Vespa communities across various regions of North Sumatra. ***rel

Ketua Panitia Dwi Rendra Perkasa menjelaskan, ajang berskala besar (big event) lima tahunan tersebut mengusung tema “Jejak Tiga Dekade, Dari Mesin Tua Menjadi Keluarga Seutuhnya”.

***rel
