Titiek Sugiharti encourages ambassadors for social solidarity in North Sumatra to become change-makers and inspire the younger generation
Titiek Sugiharti, Expert Staff Member I of the Movement for Family Strengthening and Well-being in North Sumatra (TP PKK) team, hopes that the selected ambassadors for social solidarity in North Sumatra will inspire the younger generation.
They are expected to commit to various social issues and foster a spirit of mutual cooperation within the community. This is what Titiek Sugiharti said during the election of the Ambassador of Social Solidarity for the province of North Sumatra in 2026, which took place in the Raja Inal Siregar (RIS) Hall of the North Sumatra Governor’s Office on Jalan Pangeran Diponegoro in Medan on Friday, June 19, 2026.
In her speech to the predominantly young participants, Titiek emphasized that, amidst rapid developments, technological advancements, and the increasingly open flow of information, the younger generation must not only be intelligent and ambitious, but also socially skilled, empathetic, and caring.
“With this activity, I hope to shape a generation of young people who can serve as role models, be a driving force, and foster the spirit of mutual cooperation within the community,” she said.
According to her, the values of social solidarity form an important foundation for building a strong, harmonious, and mutually supportive society. During the activity themed “Become an inspiring and leading social ambassador,” Titiek emphasized that the title ‘Ambassador of Social Solidarity’ is not just a title, but a mandate to continue encouraging and inspiring the community, and particularly young people, to commit to various societal issues.
Illyan Chandra Simbolon, head of the North Sumatra Provincial Social Service, stated that this was the first event of its kind held in North Sumatra. A total of 250 participants, consisting of students from various regions of North Sumatra, took part in the event.

He expressed the hope that the selected ambassadors would become role models and sources of inspiration for the community, particularly the younger generation, and would promote the spirit of social solidarity.
“We hope that this activity can increase solidarity among young people and produce individuals capable of bringing about change,” he said. On this occasion, Titiek Sugiharti, accompanied by Illyan Chandra Simbolon, also presented awards to various Inspiring Figures of North Sumatra 2026. This event was the result of a collaboration between the Provincial Government of North Sumatra and the Indonesian Foundation for Ambassadors for Social Solidarity. ***REL
