Tirtanadi offers free distribution line installation, waiver of late payment penalties, and payment plans for new connections
Perumda Tirtanadi has introduced several new measures to expand service coverage and facilitate public access to clean water.
These measures include the free installation of distribution lines, the waiver of penalties for inactive customers, and flexible payment arrangements for new connections.

These measures are expected to further improve access to clean water, particularly for residents who are not yet connected to Perumda Tirtanadi’s piped water network.
“This initiative aims to increase coverage and opportunities for the public. Penalties for inactive customers are being waived, and they can reactivate their connections and pay in installments over 12 months, making it easier for the public to access new connections,” said Ardian Surbakti, Director of Perumda Tirtanadi, during an information session about the program at the Perumda Tirtanadi office at Jalan Sisingamangaraja No. 1 in Medan.
Tirtanadi has set specific requirements for the installation of new distribution lines. The pipeline network must span at least 50 meters and serve a minimum of five households as potential customers.
New customers are still required to pay an installation fee of Rp 2,050,000. This fee can be paid in installments over 12 months, with a 30% down payment.

For existing customers who previously cancelled their service, Tirtanadi offers the option to reactivate their subscription by paying the new installation fee and settling any outstanding water bills. Penalties associated with these outstanding amounts will be waived.
“This is stipulated in the Management Regulations (Perdir) regarding guidelines for the installation of new distribution pipelines financed by Perumda Tirtanadi. For further information and a technical explanation, please contact our nearest branch,” said Ardian.
Ikrimah Hamidy, Director of Operations and Marketing at Perumda Tirtanadi, added that the program applies only to land that is not subject to ownership disputes and is not located within a watershed area (DAS) or a designated green open space (RTH).
Nevertheless, Tirtanadi continues to provide solutions to communities in areas with problematic land conditions through bulk water supply, in accordance with local community agreements.
