The Ministry of Manpower and the National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) Expand Inclusive Access to Employment for Zakat Recipients and People with Disabilities
The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) and the National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) discussed the economic empowerment of zakat recipients (mustahik) and increasing access to employment for people with disabilities through vocational training, job placement services, and preparation for future internships in Japan.
Sukro Muhab, Special Advisor to the Minister of Manpower, stated that the discussion took place during a meeting between BAZNAS commissioners and the Ministry of Manpower’s technical team at the BAZNAS headquarters in Jakarta.
“This collaboration is part of the Ministry of Manpower’s commitment to achieving an inclusive labor market while simultaneously fostering community economic independence by leveraging religious social funds,” said Sukro.
According to Sukro, the partnership with BAZNAS aims to link economic empowerment initiatives with employment programs, ensuring that community support is aligned with specific needs and available programs.
“We will focus this joint synergy on increasing access to employment for our brothers and sisters with disabilities, preparing potential interns for Japan, and optimizing the role of the Zakat Collection Unit (UPZ) within the Ministry of Manpower,” Sukro added.
He explained that BAZNAS’s involvement also includes support for vocational training and job placement for underprivileged groups within the community.

These efforts are expected to create opportunities for community members to enhance their skills and gain access to the labor market. “We are focusing our collaboration with BAZNAS on ensuring that the distribution of zakat funds yields greater and more sustainable benefits,” said Sukro.
Sukro added that optimizing the Zakat Collection Unit (UPZ) within the Ministry of Manpower was one of the topics discussed during the meeting. Strengthening the role of the UPZ is expected to expand the reach of zakat distribution to eligible recipients.
“Through this partnership, the Ministry of Manpower is committed to continuing the implementation of an inclusive, equitable, and socially responsible employment policy that reaches all segments of the population without exception,” said Sukro.

Kemnaker dan BAZNAS Perluas Akses Kerja Inklusif bagi Mustahik dan Penyandang Disabilitas
Kementerian Ketenagakerjaan (Kemnaker) dan Badan Amil Zakat Nasional (BAZNAS) membahas pemberdayaan ekonomi masyarakat penerima zakat (mustahik) serta perluasan akses kerja bagi penyandang disabilitas melalui pelatihan vokasi, penempatan kerja, dan persiapan calon peserta magang ke Jepang.
Staf Khusus Menteri Ketenagakerjaan Sukro Muhab mengatakan, pembahasan tersebut dilakukan dalam audiensi antara jajaran komisioner BAZNAS dan tim teknis Kemnaker di Gedung BAZNAS, Jakarta.
“Kolaborasi ini menjadi bagian dari komitmen Kemnaker untuk mewujudkan pasar kerja yang inklusif sekaligus mendorong kemandirian ekonomi masyarakat melalui pemanfaatan dana sosial keagamaan,” kata Sukro.
Menurut Sukro, kerja sama dengan BAZNAS diarahkan untuk menghubungkan program pemberdayaan ekonomi dengan program ketenagakerjaan, sehingga dukungan kepada masyarakat dapat disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan dan program yang tersedia.
“Sinergi bersama ini akan kita fokuskan untuk memperluas akses kerja bagi saudara-saudara kita penyandang disabilitas, mempersiapkan calon peserta magang ke Jepang, serta mengoptimalkan peran Unit Pengumpul Zakat (UPZ) di lingkungan Kemnaker,” ujar Sukro.
Ia menjelaskan, keterlibatan BAZNAS juga mencakup dukungan terhadap pelatihan vokasi dan akses penempatan kerja bagi kelompok masyarakat yang membutuhkan. Upaya tersebut diharapkan dapat membuka kesempatan bagi masyarakat untuk meningkatkan keterampilan dan memperoleh akses ke dunia kerja.
“Kerja sama dengan BAZNAS kami arahkan agar penyaluran dana zakat memberikan manfaat yang lebih besar dan berkelanjutan,” ujar Sukro.
Sukro menambahkan, optimalisasi UPZ di lingkungan Kemnaker menjadi salah satu bagian yang dibahas dalam pertemuan tersebut. Penguatan peran UPZ diharapkan dapat memperluas jangkauan penyaluran zakat kepada para mustahik.
“Melalui kemitraan ini, Kemnaker berkomitmen untuk terus menghadirkan kebijakan ketenagakerjaan yang inklusif, merata, dan mampu menjangkau seluruh lapisan masyarakat tanpa terkecuali,” kata Sukro.
Pimpinan BAZNAS bidang Pendistribusian, Pendayagunaan, dan Pemberdayaan Idy Muzayyad menyatakan kesiapan mendukung program-program Kemnaker. Menurutnya, optimalisasi UPZ di lingkungan kementerian dapat memperluas jangkauan penyaluran zakat kepada para mustahik. ***rel
