This commitment was made by Deputy Minister of Labor Afriansyah Noor during a peaceful demonstration by the Federation of Indonesian Worldwide Trade Unions (F-SPGI) in front of the Ministry of Labor office in Jakarta on Monday, May 25, 2026.
“We received eleven representatives from F-SPGI and listened to all their concerns. The Ministry of Labor will deploy a special team to provide advice and send a labor inspection team to conduct inspections. We hope that the best possible solution to this conflict can be found,” stated Deputy Minister Afriansyah Noor.
During the protest, F-SPGI (family businesses) presented a number of demands regarding alleged union suppression, the implementation of temporary employment contracts (PKWT), the enforcement of the collective labor agreement (PKB), and protection for the 12 employees reportedly affected by the PKWT conflict.
The Deputy Minister of Labor emphasized that the government takes this matter seriously, both regarding finding a joint solution and upholding applicable labor legislation.
