Regent Afandin Encourages Reproductive Education to be Included in School Curriculum in Langkat | OBROLANBISNIS.com — Langkat Regent, Syah Afandin, expressed the local government’s commitment to answering the moral and health challenges of the younger generation through reproductive education.

“Reproductive education not only concerns health aspects, but also morals, social, and the readiness of the younger generation to face the challenges of the times. This regulation is a real form of government presence in an issue that has so far been considered taboo,” said Afandin when opening the Joint Movement Workshop for the Implementation of Regional Regulation (Perda) number 3 of 2025 concerning the Implementation of Reproductive Education for Adolescents, at the Langkat Regional Government Akbid Hall, Kwala Bingai Village, Stabat District, Langkat Regency, June 4, 2025.

Afandin also gave firm direction to the Langkat Education Office to immediately integrate reproductive education into the school curriculum, as a preventive step in building the character and awareness of the younger generation.

“I ask the Education Office to include reproductive health education in the curriculum. Let history record that during our leadership, there was a monumental policy that we inherited for the sake of improving the morals of the nation’s children,” said Afandin.

The man who is familiarly called Bang Ondim also hopes that Langkat can become a national example in the successful implementation of reproductive education, so that it has a long-term positive impact on the growth and development of adolescents.follow-on-google-news-de

“Hopefully Langkat can become an icon of our success in preparing the future of our children to be better,” concluded Ondim.

Meanwhile, the Director of the United North Sumatra Alliance, Fery Wira, in his presentation session said that his party has long been educating and advocating for adolescent health issues in Langkat, especially in the outskirts and rural areas.

“With the presence of this Regional Regulation, the assistance steps will be legally stronger. We welcome the presence of Regional Regulation Number 3 of 2025 as a reinforcement of our work so far which focuses on education and assistance for adolescents,” said Fery.

This workshop is an initiative of the Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Aliansi Sumut Bersatu which collaborates with various elements, ranging from regional officials, representatives of educational institutions, youth organizations, community leaders, to adolescent health observers.

This activity aims to encourage the implementation of the Regional Regulation in a concrete manner in the field, especially in schools, health centers, and youth communities.

This workshop presents a number of speakers from various sectors, and is combined with group discussion sessions and the preparation of action plans.

The participants are actively involved in designing a strategy for implementing the Regional Regulation that is measurable and applicable, especially for implementation in schools and adolescent health service centers. ***
