Police arrest teacher’s motorcycle theft suspect
The motorcycle thief, Hendra Saputra (28), a resident of Krueng Geukuh, Dewantara District, North Aceh, was arrested by Medan Tuntungan police.
Hendra was arrested in connection with the theft of a Honda Scoopy with registration number 2697 AKW, owned by Dr. Roslinda Br. Ginting (65), a teacher.
Medan Tuntungan Police Chief, Chief Inspector Syawal Sitepu, stated that the theft occurred on Jalan Jamin Ginting, KM 10.5, Simpang Selayang Village, Medan Tuntungan, on Monday, February 16, 2026.
The victim was talking to a friend near Bharlind School.
At the time of the incident, the victim left his motorcycle with the key still in the handlebars.
“Suddenly, the perpetrator fled with the victim’s motorcycle, and the victim immediately filed a report with us,” Syawal said on Saturday (February 21, 2026).
After filing the report, his team immediately investigated the crime scene and reviewed security camera footage from the area. Initial investigations identified one perpetrator, Hendra Saputra.
On Wednesday (February 18, 2026), around 7:00 PM, the team encountered the perpetrator on Jalan PDAM Tirtanadi, Gang Mushola Sunggal.
Evidence sold by the perpetrator
During interrogation, Hendak confessed to the crime. He was accompanied by a friend named Black during the theft.
The victim’s motorcycle was sold for Rp 3,500,000 to an unknown person in front of the Indomaret next to the gas station in Sidomulyo Village.
“The perpetrator received Rp 1,700,000 for the sale of the motorcycle, while his friend received Rp 1,800,000. The money was used for daily expenses,” Syawal said.
