Pawnshop workers’ union in Medan takes orphans to shopping mall to buy Eid clothing
Prior to Eid al-Fitr 1447 H, the union (SP) of PT Pegadaian Regional Office 1 Medan shared the blessings of Ramadan with dozens of orphans.
The care campaign by the pawnshop workers’ union in Medan was different this year (2026) than in previous years. On Saturday, March 14, 2026, about 50 orphans were taken to the Center Point Mall in Medan to pick out Eid clothing at the H&M store. The chairman of the Pegadaian Medan (SP) union, M. Riki Ervando, and the head of Regional Office 1 of PT Pegadaian Medan, Yohanis Wulang, witnessed the joy of the orphans as they picked out their Eid clothes.
Pegadaian Medan appreciates the positive activities of the union
“This social activity, in which the orphans went to the shopping mall to shop during Ramadan, is the first of its kind organized by the Pegadaian Medan union. Alhamdulillah (Alhamdulillah), we are happy to see how happy they are to be able to enter the shopping mall and buy the clothes they like,” said Riki.
He also expressed his gratitude to Regional Office 1 of PT Pegadaian Medan for supporting the positive activities of the Pegadaian Medan staff. “We appreciate the continued support of the company (Pegadaian) for the activities of the Pegadaian Medan trade union. This collaboration demonstrates that the company values its social role in helping the underprivileged,” said Riki, accompanied by the DPD and DPC officials of the Pegadaian Medan trade union.
He hopes that the cooperation between the company and the trade union can be continued and become even more harmonious in the future.
Free repatriation trips by Pegadaian Medan
Meanwhile, Yohanis Wulang, head of Regional Office 1 of PT Pegadaian Medan, expressed his appreciation for the social activities of the Pegadaian Medan trade union during Ramadan, including assistance to orphans. “This action demonstrates Pegadaian’s commitment to the community. Pegadaian does not only prioritize business interests but, above all, offers benefits to many people, particularly orphans during Ramadan,” stated Yohanis, accompanied by Wawan Tryadi, Deputy Operations Director of PT Pegadaian Regional Office 1 Medan.
Yohanis stated that the cooperation between the union and Pegadaian is routine and demonstrates the harmony between the company and its employees.
On that occasion, Yohanis Wulang, Head of PT Pegadaian Regional Office 1 Medan, explained that Pegadaian Medan undertook various activities during Ramadan, such as providing food packages and assistance to orphans, organizing the Ramadan Bareng Tring Pegadaian event, and participating in the free homecoming program. “This Monday, we (Pegadaian) will send hundreds of Eid al-Fitr travelers to various destinations, including Rantauprapat, Padangsidimpuan, Padang City, and Banda Aceh,” said Yohanis. ***obs
