The plan to have his office on the Nias Islands for three months a year is seen as proof of the government’s commitment to ensuring that development programs are implemented effectively and respond directly to community needs.
“Today, we highly appreciate the Governor’s steps and policy as a sign of dedication to supporting accelerated development in North Sumatra, particularly on the Nias Islands,” said Timbul Jaya Sibarani, Chairperson of Committee D of the North Sumatra DPRD, at Tureloto Beach, Lahewa, North Nias.
According to Timbul, the presence of Committee D of the North Sumatra Regional People’s Representatives (DPRD) during Governor Bobby Nasution’s visit to the office was intended to directly observe the implementation of various programs by the North Sumatra Provincial Government on the Nias Islands.
The DPRD wants to ensure that the allocated budget is utilized optimally and that the community benefits from it.

“As we know, despite the hundreds of billions of rupiah allocated to the Nias Islands, there are problems regarding infrastructure, healthcare, irrigation, education, and other areas. We have made progress, and we view this as very beneficial for the inhabitants of the Nias Islands, particularly for stimulating the local economy,” he said.
Defri Noval Pasaribu, a member of the North Sumatra Regional People’s Representatives (DPRD), shared this opinion and stated that the policy of establishing offices on the Nias Islands represents a new leadership model implemented by Governor Bobby Nasution. He conveyed this during a meeting with the community in Lotu, North Nias.
According to Defri, the governor’s direct presence in the community is an effective way to understand the problems and offer residents the solutions they need.
“With such a large provincial budget allocated to the Nias Islands, we, the D Committee of the North Sumatra DPRD, find it necessary to directly monitor how the budget for the Nias Islands is being used effectively and according to schedule,” said Defri.
