Ministry of Labour ready to support companies in recruiting employees with disabilities
The Ministry of Labour (Kemnaker) has confirmed its commitment to continue safeguarding the labour rights of people with disabilities in the industrial sector by creating an inclusive work environment.
The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Labour, Cris Kuntadi, stated that the support offered is not limited to the recruitment process, but also includes adapting the work environment (appropriate facilities) and providing aids that meet the needs of various disabilities.

“We want to ensure that companies are not left to fend for themselves. The Ministry of Labour is ready to help, from finding suitable positions to guaranteeing the availability of support facilities, so that employees with disabilities can work productively and comfortably,” said Cris Kuntadi during a visit to companies employing workers with disabilities (TKPD) in Malang and Blitar on Thursday and Friday (May 7 and 8, 2026).
Also present during the visit was Firmanuddin, Special Advisor to the Minister of Labour. During the visit, the Ministry of Labour expressed its appreciation for four companies: PT Burger Buto, PT Gandum, Rumah Batik Kinarsih, and Warung Bambu Barokah, which demonstrated a genuine commitment to creating inclusive workplaces for people with disabilities.
According to Cris, the measures implemented by these companies exceed the 1 percent quota set out in Act No. 8 of 2016 on Persons with Disabilities.

“What these companies have done proves that inclusivity is not merely an administrative obligation, but a concrete expression of humanity and recognition of the employment potential of people with disabilities,” he emphasized.
The Ministry of Labour also praised the companies for their courage in creating workplaces for people with various disabilities who still often face stigma, such as people with intellectual disabilities at Rumah Batik Kinarsih and people with intellectual disabilities at PT Burger Buto and Warung Bambu Barokah. “Stigma is often the biggest obstacle. However, these companies show that people with intellectual disabilities, with the right support and guidance, can make a positive contribution to business development,” Cris added.
The Ministry of Labour hopes that these good examples from Malang and Blitar can inspire companies in various regions to create more equal and inclusive employment.
