The Minister encouraged industry associations to collaborate with the Ministry of Manpower regarding workforce needs. The Ministry is prepared to offer training to participants at no cost, and partner companies are encouraged to provide employment opportunities upon completion of the training.
“Let us handle the training and preparation; the training is provided free of charge by the Ministry of Manpower. We only ask for your cooperation: after the training, you can hire them,” said Yassierli.
The Ministry of Manpower is also preparing to establish a talent development center for people with disabilities. This center will be equipped with facilities and equipment suited to various types of disabilities, aiming to enhance participants’ competencies and provide companies with insight into necessary workplace adjustments.
According to Yassierli, support for companies does not end with recruitment. Companies must also ensure that adjustments are made so that employees with disabilities can work in a comfortable environment. “Once they are hired, we need to make the necessary adjustments. We can show you examples of their workstations. Just ensure they work in a pleasant environment,” he continued.

The Minister of Manpower emphasized that people with disabilities possess the competence and potential to contribute to the company and develop their careers. “I assure you that they will be an asset to your company. We even hope they can achieve success and gain better career opportunities,” he said.
He also reminded the business community of Law No. 8 of 2016 concerning persons with disabilities. Government bodies, regional authorities, state-owned enterprises (BUMN), and regional enterprises (BUMD) are required to employ at least 2 percent of their workforce from among people with disabilities, while private companies must employ at least 1 percent.
“Please inform your companies and management teams that this is our obligation. Please collaborate with the Disability Services Unit (ULD),” Yassierli advised the business representatives present.
The Minister of Manpower also urged the Manpower Office (Disnaker) and regional ULDs to strengthen cooperation in identifying people with disabilities who are ready to enter the labor market. This assessment is essential to ensure that training programs align with the participants’ potential and the needs of the business sector. ***rel
Menaker Ajak Perusahaan Serap Penyandang Disabilitas
***rel
