Infrastructure improvements boost the regional economy
North Sumatra Governor Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution organized a Ramadan safari in Padanglawas (Palas). During the event, Bobby brought many souvenirs for the residents of Palas.
One of the gifts was a pledge to improve infrastructure in Palas. He shared this directly with the community during an iftar (breaking of the fast) at the Al Munawaroh Grand Mosque in Sibuhuan, Palas, on Monday, March 2, 2026.
According to Bobby, good infrastructure will boost the regional economy. He noted that the purchasing power of Palas residents is already quite good and that this can be further improved through infrastructure development.
“I saw that the city is very busy, which means the economy is doing well. This afternoon, many residents were buying and selling, which is a good sign for the economy,” said Bobby.
Governor Bobby is committed to infrastructure development
The governor has also asked the North Sumatra Public Works and Housing Agency to further investigate this matter and identify areas where immediate development can be implemented.
In addition to his commitment to infrastructure development, Bobby has also provided various forms of assistance to the Palas community.
This assistance included a grant of 500 million rupiah to the Community Development Agency of the Al Munawaroh Grand Mosque (BKM), Qurans and Islamic religious books, sports equipment, financial support, sarongs and prayer robes (mukena), fish larvae and fish food, basic necessities, milk, and donations for orphans.
Plans for the construction of two-lane roads in Sibuhuan
The Regent of Padanglawas, Crown Prince Alam Hasibuan, hopes the Governor will develop the infrastructure, especially roads, in his region. He plans to build two-lane roads in Sibuhuan City.
“Regarding the release of the road area, Mr. Governor, that is my responsibility as Regent of Palas. We are only requesting the construction of the road,” said the Regent.
Also present at the Ramadan Safari were North Sumatra Deputy Governor Surya, Palas Vice Regent Achmad Fauzan Nasution, Assistant to the Government and Public Welfare Basarin Yunus Tanjung, North Sumatra Communications and Information Office Head Erwin Hotmansah Harahap, North Sumatra Education Office Head Alexander Sinulingga, North Sumatra Youth and Sports Office Head Mahfullah Pratama, and leaders of the North Sumatra provincial government and the Padanglawas community. ***rel
