Come on… Indonesia’s young generation ignites the fighting spirit of ’45
The Governor of North Sumatra, Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution, urged the younger generation to keep the fighting spirit of ’45 alive as a foundation for tackling the country’s various challenges on the road to a Golden Indonesia 2045.
According to him, these values of struggle must be passed on through synergy between the younger generation and those who have already served the country.

“We, the youth, certainly need constant reminders and guidance from our parents and elders. If we take inappropriate steps in the leadership of the region, please keep pointing out our mistakes,” said Bobby Nasution during the inauguration of the Regional Journal (DHD) of the Agency for Cultivating the Spirit of ’45 (BPJS 45) of the Province of North Sumatra for the period 2026-2031, in the Raja Inal Siregar Hall of the Governor of North Sumatra’s office, Jalan Diponegoro No. 30, Medan.
Bobby believes that the existence of DHD 45 plays a strategic role in guiding the younger generation to stay on course with the nation’s struggle.
The organization is expected to collaborate with the government to promote national values and a spirit of patriotism among the next generation.
He also recalled the long history of the nation’s struggle, from the Youth Pledge of 1928 to the Declaration of Independence in 1945, which united various elements of the nation.

He argued that this fighting spirit must form a basis for facing the challenges of the present day, such as drug use, riots, and violence against children.
General Agustadi Saswongko Purnomo, Chairman of the Plenary Council of DHD 45, emphasized that DHD 45 stands ready to support various regional government policy measures.
According to him, cultivating the spirit, values, and mentality of the ’45 struggle is a shared responsibility for preserving the unitary state of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).
“DHD 45 must always cooperate with the regional government and all elements of society. This cooperation will be a catalyst for achieving the development goals in North Sumatra,” Agustadi emphasized.
The newly installed Chairman of DHD 45 North Sumatra, Muhammad Hasyim, expressed his appreciation for the support of the North Sumatra Provincial Government in organizing the installation.
He also invited the regents and mayors of the 33 regencies/cities in North Sumatra to facilitate the establishment and development of the DHD 45 departmental councils (DHD 45), which have now been established in 20 regions.
“We entrust North Sumatra to young leaders. Let us protect the Pancasila, the Constitution of 1945, and the integrity of the unitary state of the Republic of Indonesia amidst ethnic and religious diversity,” said Hasyim.
The inauguration ceremony was marked by the handing over of the flag and the installation of the DHD 45 North Sumatra Board for the period 2026–2031. The installed core team consisted of Chairman Muhammad Hasyim, Secretary-General Sofyan Ahmadi Hutasuhut, and Treasurer Novan Efendy Siregar. ***rel
