Jakarta Public Prosecution Service arrests Ministry of Public Works contractor for alleged corruption

On Tuesday, July 7, 2026, the Jakarta Public Prosecution Service arrested a suspect with the initials JND in a case of alleged corruption regarding the regular expenditures of the Secretariat of the Directorate General of Public Housing of the Ministry of Public Works for the period 2023-2024.

JND, who reportedly controls multiple companies, namely CV Nalisa Destia, CV Mila Kirana, CV Raflindo Pratama, PT Atrindo Prima Persada, CV Nursa Lima, CV Zafran Karya Utama, CV Azio Osaka, and CV Ardian Permata Indah, was identified as a suspect after investigators found evidence of his involvement in the alleged fabrication of fictitious projects.

The head of the Legal Information Department (Kasi Penkum) of the Jakarta Public Prosecution Service, Dapot Dariarma, stated that JND, together with other suspects, allegedly set up fictitious projects at the Directorate-General for Public Housing during the fiscal years 2023 and 2024. These actions allegedly resulted in a financial loss for the state of at least 16 billion Indonesian rupiah.

“JND is suspected, together with other suspects, of having set up fictitious projects at the Directorate-General for Public Housing during the periods 2023 and 2024, resulting in a financial loss to the state of at least 16 billion Indonesian rupiah,” said Dapot on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.

JND is suspected of having violated Article 603 or Article 604 in conjunction with Article 20 letter c and Article 126 paragraph (1) of Penal Code Act No. 1 of 2023 in conjunction with Article 18 paragraph (1) of Anti-Corruption Act No. 31 of 1999, as amended by Anti-Corruption Act No. 20 of 2001.

Investigators have detained JND for 20 days, starting Monday, July 6, 2026, in the Class I State Prison in Cipinang, East Jakarta, for investigation.

Dapot emphasized that the investigation into the case is still ongoing. Investigators are currently gathering evidence, questioning witnesses and state financial experts, and conducting an investigation into the seizure of assets to recover the state’s financial losses as much as possible.

“The investigation is still ongoing to determine the possible involvement of other parties, including employees of the Ministry of Public Works, state-owned enterprises, and the private sector,” he said.

Before JND was designated as a suspect, the Jakarta Public Prosecution Service had already arrested three other suspects: YRW, the former Acting Director of Irrigation and Swamps at the Directorate General of Water Resources; RW, Director of CV TAS, a service provider for the Secretariat of the Directorate General of Public Housing; and JSR, Director of PT BKS.

The special investigator from the Jakarta Public Prosecution Service confirmed that the investigation is still ongoing to identify all suspects in the case. ***adh
