This program is part of the government’s 2026 economic stimulus package, designed to strengthen the transition of college and university graduates—including those from vocational institutions—into the labor market through practical experience and workplace learning.
Minister of Manpower Yassierli stated that the internship program offers young talent the opportunity to gain work experience, receive guidance, and enhance their competencies and professional work culture.
“This internship program is a government initiative to strengthen the transition of university graduates—including vocational graduates—into the labor market through practical experience, mentorship, and the enhancement of competencies and work culture. Quality of implementation must be a priority. Organizers are required to provide relevant work, active mentors, targeted learning programs, and consistent evaluation,” the Minister of Manpower emphasized.
The Minister made these remarks during the launch and orientation session for the MagangHub program (Batch II, Batch 1) at the Ministry of Manpower offices in Jakarta on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya was also present at the event. The minister emphasized that internships should be an opportunity for developing competencies and professionalism, rather than merely a venue for administrative tasks.
A total of 3,672 organizers participated in Cohort II (Cohort 1), comprising 1,830 companies and 1,842 ministries or institutions.
These organizers made 28,455 internship positions available, offering a total of 54,304 participant slots—31,251 at companies and 23,053 at ministries or agencies.
The 2026 National Internship Program met with great public enthusiasm. A total of 732,483 candidates registered, of whom 244,982 were deemed eligible. From this group of eligible candidates, 226,719 potential participants submitted over 547,000 applications for various internship positions.

“This achievement demonstrates the strong collaboration between the government and the business sector in creating relevant, practical learning opportunities for young Indonesian talent. Participants are encouraged to seize this opportunity with discipline, integrity, and sincerity, using the six-month internship as a springboard to demonstrate their skills, expand their networks, and build a professional reputation,” stated the Minister of Manpower.
All phases have proceeded according to schedule, ranging from registration for organizing entities (June 29 to July 15, 2026) and participant registration (July 16 to July 28, 2026) to the announcement of selection results on August 7, 2026, and the start of the internship on August 10, 2026.
The Minister emphasized that, following the program’s launch, the Ministry of Manpower will focus on monitoring the quality of implementation—specifically the guidance and evaluation of participants during the internship.
“The Ministry of Manpower will continue to monitor the effectiveness of the guidance and the suitability of assigned tasks, ensuring that this internship program can serve as a talent pool for the organizing entities and companies,” he concluded. ***rel
