4 children die in fishpond
Four children were found dead in a fishpond near Rondaman village, East Halongonan District, North Padang Lawas Regency (Paluta).
Padang Bolak Police Chief Abdul Hakim Harahap said the four children, identified as AWT (7), JPT (4), PR (8), and SAR (5), were found Thursday afternoon (March 5, 2026).
Witness Sees 4 Victims Bathing in Pond
“We received the initial report from residents of Siancimun village, who reported that four children had been found dead in a resident’s pond. After receiving the report, we and our officers immediately went to the location to investigate,” Padang Bolak Police Chief Abdul Hakim Harahap said on Saturday (March 7, 2026).
According to witness statements, the four victims were seen bathing in the pool and joking around.
Shortly afterward, witness Maradongan Nasution returned to the pool to clean up, but he was unaware that the bodies were there.
Victims Found Floating in Pool
Eventually, the victims’ families arrived at the scene looking for their children and discovered the bodies floating there.
“Shortly afterward, a relative of the victims came looking for their children. At that point, the witness looked toward the center of the pool and saw the four children floating.”***
