Two repeat motorcycle thieves apprehended by the North Sumatra Regional Police Detectives
Subdivision III of the North Sumatra Regional Police Detectives has arrested two gangs specializing in inter-regional/city motorcycle thefts in various areas.
The Director-General of the North Sumatra Regional Police Detectives, Chief Commissioner Ricko Taruna Mauruh, stated that the two perpetrators, RC (18) and IF (18), reside in the Deli Serdang district.
The perpetrators committed their crimes dozens of times in various areas.
Suspect RC committed crimes primarily in two districts and one city: Deliserdang district, Langkat district, and Medan city.
“Based on the investigation, these two perpetrators are repeat offenders. The perpetrator, RC, committed dozens of crimes within the jurisdiction of the Medan, Deliserdang, and Langkat police,” said Chief Commissioner Ricko Taruna Mauruh, Director General of the Criminal Investigation Department of the North Sumatra Regional Police, on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
This bicycle theft came to light after a citizen identified as PN reported the loss of his motorcycle to the Medan Sunggal police on February 7.

The North Sumatra regional police team then joined the investigation and arrested the perpetrators in the village of Sei Mencirim, Sunggal district, Deli Serdang.
During the theft, the two suspects, RC and IF, switched roles: RC was the perpetrator, and IF monitored the situation on the motorcycle.
If the theft was successful, they immediately fled. However, if the theft failed, suspect IF waited for RC with the motorcycle still running.
