The Government Expects to Increase the Number of Female Hajj Pilgrimage Guides | OBROLANBISNIS.com — The Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) is encouraging the number of female hajj pilgrims to be increased in the upcoming hajj.
Minister of PPPA Arifatul Choiri Fauzi, who is a member of Amirul Hajj 1446H/2025M, said that the number of female hajj pilgrims from each province needs to be adjusted, as well as to overcome regional language and cultural barriers.
“We encourage that there must be female hajj pilgrims from each province, because the language approach, cultural approach, and others require officers from their respective regions,” said Arifatul while visiting the hajj pilgrims in Sector 2 in the Syisyah Area, Mecca.
It is said, in terms of numbers, Indonesian hajj pilgrims are more female, it would be better if the number of hajj officers, including worship guides, is adjusted to the number of pilgrims, because there are special things that make female pilgrims more comfortable when there are problems, so they consult with other women.
“This is a recommendation note for the implementation of the following hajj,” he said.
In addition to adding female hajj officers, the Ministry of PPPA will prepare a special module for female hajj pilgrims.
“I have had the opportunity to talk with the Minister of Religion, with friends at the Ministry of Religion, that we will prepare a module for female hajj pilgrims, because so far there has been none,” he said.
The Minister of PPPA explained that the importance of women-friendly hajj is related to women’s reproductive health issues. “For women, there is a period that is always experienced, namely menstruation, istihadhah conditions. This requires special consultation,” explained the Minister. ***
