The Deli Serdang police drug unit successfully thwarted the distribution of 6.3 kg of methamphetamine from Aceh.
The Deli Serdang police drug unit thwarted the attempted distribution of 6,380 grams (6.3 kg) of methamphetamine.
The head of the Deli Serdang police’s drug unit, Commissioner Fery Kusnadi, explained that suspect RAS (24), a resident of Pintu Rime Gayo district, Bener Meriah Regency, Aceh Province, was arrested on Sunday afternoon (February 4, 2026) on the Medan-Lubuk Pakam highway in Deli Serdang Regency.
Narcotics Unit Arrests Suspect Along the Road
The arrest was made based on information from the public that a man from Meulaboh, Aceh, was transporting methamphetamine to Lubuk Pakam.
“The suspect was identified based on information from the public. When we saw him standing on the roadside, we immediately arrested him,” said Police Commissioner Fery Kusnadi on Monday, February 16, 2026.
Evidence secured and investigation launched
A search found a blue suitcase containing six transparent plastic bags wrapped with yellow tape, containing 6,380 grams of methamphetamine. A mobile phone was also found in his pocket and a backpack.
“We also found a bus ticket in the suspect’s name in his wallet,” he explained.
He revealed that the suspect admitted to obtaining the methamphetamine from a dealer with the initials Y, an Aceh resident who is wanted by the police.
“We have been searching for Y for some time, but we have not found him yet and are still searching for him,” concluded Police Commissioner Fery Kusnadi.
