Suspect in marijuana case escapes after trial at Lubuk Pakam court


A suspect in a marijuana case, Syalihin GP, ​​also known as Lihin, 39, escaped Tuesday (January 27) at 2:00 PM (West Africa Time) after a hearing at Lubuk Pakam court.

According to reports, Syalihin GP was able to escape with the help of others. He fled the court grounds in Lubuk Pakam on a motorcycle.

After the Public Prosecution Service and the police were informed of the escape, a chase was immediately initiated. It is not yet known whether the suspect has been apprehended.

Syahlihin and eight of his friends were previously accused in a marijuana case in which approximately 214 kg of evidence was seized by officers of the National Drug Control Agency of North Sumatra (BNN) in May 2025.

In the previous trial, the Deliserdang Public Prosecution Service (DKS) had each sentenced Syahlihin and his eight friends to death.

Syahlihin, GP, also known as Lihin, and the eight defendants will be sentenced at the next hearing.

At the time of publication, the acting head of the intelligence department of the Deliserdang Public Prosecution Service, Andi Sitepu, SH, MH, had not yet responded.

Police searching for suspect

Meanwhile, the head of the Deliserdang police detective unit, AKP Marvel Stefanus Arantes Ansanay, STK, SIK, Msi, stated that the Deliserdang Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Deliserdang police are working together to find the suspect.

“The search is still ongoing. Please pray for his arrest,” he said.***
