Sergai resident arrested by Pematang Siantar police for alleged purchase of methamphetamine
Pematang Siantar police successfully uncovered the possession of methamphetamine and arrested the alleged owner, MH, 53, a resident of Kampung Keling, Hamlet II, Sei Rampah Village, Serdang Bedagai Regency (Sergai).
AKBP Police Chief Sah Udur Togi Marito Sitinjak, through the head of the AKP Narcotics Control Department, Irwanta Sembiring, announced on Sunday (February 1) that the Narcotics Control Department’s operational team, led by Chief Inspector Indrawan of Unit 2, arrested MH on Jl. Sabang Merauke, Gg. Davit, in Simalungun District, South Siantar District, on Thursday (January 22) at 12:15 a.m. (West Indies Time).
2.04 grams of evidence seized
According to the head of the Narcotics Control Department, MH was arrested following a tip from the public about a suspect in possession of drugs on Jl. Sabang, Merauke.
During interrogation, MH admitted that the six packets of methamphetamine, weighing 2.04 grams, belonged to him and that he had received them from a man named “S,” also a resident of Sergei. During the investigation, they were unable to contact S, so the Narcotics Squad’s operational team, led by the head of Section 2, took MH and the evidence to the Narcotics Squad office at the police station.
The suspect has been arrested by Pematang Siantar police and will be interrogated shortly
“The suspect, MH, is currently being held for questioning pursuant to Article 114, paragraph (1), of Act No. 35 of 2009 on Narcotic Drugs and/or Article 609, paragraph (1), letter (a), of Act No. 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code, in conjunction with Act No. 1 of 2026 on Criminal Law,” police said.
