Road construction in Sipiongot, North Padanglawas District, continues


Governor Bobby Nasution of North Sumatra has confirmed that road construction in Sipiongot, North Padanglawas District (Paluta), will continue. Work on this section of the road is expected to begin after Eid al-Fitr.

The news was enthusiastically received by the Sipiongot community. One resident, Olivia Panjaitan, expressed her gratitude that the road in her village is finally receiving government attention after decades.

“We are very grateful to the governor for his visit and hope that our road will finally be repaired. Hopefully, the road construction will proceed smoothly and the residents of Sipiongot can make progress,” Olivia said after Governor Bobby Nasution inspected the road in Sipiongot village, Paluta, on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.

Another resident, Romel, also hoped that the work would proceed smoothly and result in a good road that can be used long-term.


Road construction in Sipiongot promotes equal opportunities for fair infrastructure


The regent of North Padang Lawas, Reski Basyah Harahap, also expressed his appreciation for the attention the governor is paying to his region. He is optimistic that the development will contribute to equal opportunities for fair infrastructure, especially in remote areas.

“On behalf of all the residents of North Padang Lawas, we would like to express our sincere appreciation for the Governor’s attention and commitment to the construction of three provincial roads in Dolok District, Paluta,” Reski said, drawing loud applause from the hundreds of residents present.

Reski added that the construction of the road to Sipiongot is a source of joy for the community. He hopes the work will proceed smoothly until completion.

“We realize that this has led to equitable development. We believe that, with the Governor’s attention and support, equitable distribution in remote areas will, God willing, contribute to the community’s progress,” Reski said.


Arrival of Governor Bobby Nasution greeted by hundreds of residents


The three road sections to be constructed are the 11-kilometer Hutaimbaru-Sipiongot section, the 16-kilometer Sipiongot-Labuhanbatu section, and the 12-kilometer Sipiongot section at the border with South Tapanuli (Tolang).

The governor’s arrival in Sipiongot was warmly welcomed by residents who had been waiting since the morning. The community’s enthusiasm was evident in the hundreds of people who came to witness the inspection. ***rel
