PT Taspen offers protection for civil servants outside of working hours with an additional premium of IDR 5,000
Acting Regional Secretary of North Sumatra Province (Sekdaprov), Sulaiman Harahap, welcomed the visit of the PT Taspen branch in Medan, which offers additional protection for civil servants outside of working hours in addition to its existing accident and death insurance (JKK and JKM).
Acting Provincial Secretary of North Sumatra, Sulaiman, welcomed PT Taspen’s offer to provide civil servants with additional protection with a monthly premium of IDR 5,000 through the accident insurance program of its subsidiary Taspen Life. He believes this coverage can provide a sense of security and peace of mind at work.
“The most important thing is that civil servants understand what they are paid and what benefits they receive. There are deductions, even if they are small, so there are no misunderstandings,” he said on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.
PT Taspen is authorized to hold roadshows at all regional government agencies in the province of North Sumatra
According to him, many civil servants have duties that extend beyond normal working hours, especially those in certain positions or roles that require more time outside the home due to their work.
“This is new and requires clarification for all civil servants. Therefore, all regional government agencies (OPDs) should be informed about this to provide more clarity. This is certainly a good and useful program for both civil servants and PPPKs (Regional Employee Recipients), as it provides them with better guarantees,” said Sulaiman.
Therefore, Sulaiman authorized PT Taspen to hold roadshows at all OPDs to promote the program. Although time-consuming, this method is considered more effective than gathering all civil servants for one large event.
Protection benefits of up to 60 million rupiah
Meanwhile, Hari Kusuma Yudha Perwira, branch manager of PT Taspen in Medan, explained that the meeting was part of a friendly consultation with the provincial government of North Sumatra. Regular contributions are currently still being paid for the JKK and JKM (health insurance), and PT Taspen is now offering supplementary contributions to interested civil servants.
“This also concerns the well-being of civil servants and their families. If someone dies as a result of an accident while commuting, the heirs will receive a benefit of up to 60 million rupiah,” said Hari, accompanied by Eka Setiawan, head of the Participant Services Department, Arditya Soraya, head of financial administration, and Aradi Sebayang, relationship manager of Taspen Life. ***poj
