Police Uncover Malaysian Crystal Meth Drug Network • OBROLANBISNIS.com — The police team from the North Sumatra (Sumut) Regional Police uncovered the circulation of crystal methamphetamine from a Malaysian network in West Brandan District, Langkat Regency.
From the disclosure, two suspects were also secured along with 30 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine.
The two drug suspects who were secured had the initials AM and Utam. The disclosure of the Malaysian drug network was confirmed by the Director of Drugs at the North Sumatra Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Jean Calvijn Simanjuntak, Saturday, May 31, 2025.
“The disclosure of this case began with information from the public regarding the alleged circulation of drugs around the Brandan Toll Gate. From the results of the investigation, two suspects were secured,” he said.
Calvijn revealed that based on a search of the suspects, it was proven that the sack contained 28 packages of crystal methamphetamine. Then, further investigation was carried out and 2 packages of crystal methamphetamine were found stored in a house located in Perlis Village.
“The total evidence of crystal methamphetamine confiscated from the suspect weighs 30 kg,” he said, adding that the suspect and the evidence have been taken to the North Sumatra Regional Police Headquarters to undergo examination.
“The suspect Am admitted that the crystal methamphetamine was obtained from the Malaysian border waters, on the orders of someone with the initials Agus (under investigation) and would be handed over to a man with the initials Kandar (also still under investigation),” said Calvijn.
He added that the disclosure of this drug case proves that the perpetrators and drug networks continue to look for loopholes, including via sea routes to the North Sumatra Province (Sumut).
“This is not just a big catch, this is a hard slap for the dealers. We will not stop. All parties involved will be hunted down without mercy. Those who destroy the nation’s generation will not be given space,” he concluded. ***
